  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement was well structured and I had a great exposure to commercial aircraft engine systems. The learning opportunities are vast.

  • Good team spirit. Shop floor and engineering teams appreciated the work I did.

  • Mentors and internship curriculum are supportive and provide good guidance on how to complete the internship curriculum.

  • Daily role-based tasks took up a majority of my time. On the side, I got involved in several projects to try making a long-term impact.

  • One of the few engineers representing my department. Working close with other teams on site.

  • Very valuable soft skills and technical skills which will help me a great deal in my future jobs and degree.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Very social group of interns in my year. Cardiff and South Wales is a great place to do adventurous activities.

  • Affordable living possible.

  • Cardiff nightlife is alright. Bristol might be a better location.

  • GE offers plenty of opportunities to get involved outside of work. Sports, Maths mentoring etc.
