    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have had the best year at SAP. From my colleagues within my team to the wider company as a whole, I have always been made to feel part of something important here.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very - my team have often extended to me how much they rely on my support and responsibility. Having my own individual jobs and projects away from my supportive projects has definitely contributed to this.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • At the start the placement felt very daunting, working in such a busy environment with so many people, but my manager has supported me incredibly well and made me feel at home at SAP. I was also set up with a mentor who I could talk to about any issues I was having which helped.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At a quarterly driven company there are ups and downs but there was always something for me to be getting on with. If we were at a quiet period people would make sure I was filling my time with more personal development oriented tasks. Then there are crazily busy times where my day-to-day job had to be my priority.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Lots of responsibility, I think you get out as much as you put in and I was always keen to get involved in lots of different projects. Proving myself through these meant I was given more and more responsibility.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I've developed this year, hard and soft, will help me so much in my future career. You learn a lot at university but having the kind connections and access to courses and training that SAP offer gives you so much opportunity to develop yourself.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office depends on the time of year. During the end of the quarter it can be frantic and overwhelming but personally as someone who likes to thrive under pressure I prefer this to a quiet office.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • From onboarding to leaving I think the internship has been very well organised.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had intern development days which were great for learning soft skills but I also had days with my team which were more focused around my area and extremely useful. SAP also has a wealth of free online learning courses from to languages for anything you want to learn.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    National Travel

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I will be returning to SAP in the same department, the career prospects here are great and I am constantly being introduced to other teams that could further my career.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene is good being so close to London. There isn't much around the office given that it is in a business park but good clubs/bars not too far away.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Because it's London it's expensive but with the salary we're given it's been manageable

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not great around the office but easy to get to London for a good night out/

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Most of them were of my own making - there is a boys football team but no equivalent for girls.
