    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The office I work is an open office and everyone is doing their job in a very respectful way. There are managers and associate manager in the office with workers. Some people have two monitors and they all share the same SAP system. Every Monday and Wednesday we have fruit boxes all over the offices.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Both colleagues, supervisors, seniors and managers are all very helpful. Sometimes they help me on small tasks and they answer my all questions. We use emails and skype communication and sometimes we share screens to make things easier. We have operational excellence lessons once a month and sometimes we have opportunity to meet with directors.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My first days was very scary but with the support of my knowledgeable supervisors, I have managed to overwhelm this and now I am like on of them. My managers always keep an eye with me and they were always helping when I needed help. I was so lucky to have such managers and supervisors.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I wasn't busy in my first days, then I have been given lots of tasks and still I am having more and more but I never get bored or complain. I know I am doing an important job here and I am happy with that as I am learning something new every day.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given small responsibilities at first but after a short time and gaining trust and performance, I have been given more stuff to deal with. I don't feel bad or tired because of that, on the contrary I feel good and honored. I believe in future I will be given some managerial tasks to look after.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned SAP and I can say that I am now an expert in that. My Microsoft Office skills went higher as well. Other than that, I learned how to deal with large teams and how to share ideas with the team and how to make presentations in both small and large meetings.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There are some events and picnics for everyone and we also attended some celebrations in a local pub. We also celebrated the national holidays together and we had a Christmas lunch with our teammates which was wonderful. We crafted pancakes and donuts on special days and on Easter we created and painted eggs.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The company was organised in a very professional way. Everything like computer, entrance cards and stuff was ready when I started working. IT guys helped me much to establish a connection to printers and scanners and they also helped me to gain access to my emails and skype connection with my teammates.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I have been trained every week and my training still continues and I am learning new stuff every day. First I was given SAP training and then we have been given Microsoft office training which was very helpful and fun. This means I can be a master in many ways in future.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The future seems very appealing because they value their employees and they make us feel special in here. I think everyone deserve that and everyone feel like me because it is a culture of the company that everyone is special. I hope they never change and I hope I will be with them.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The company was giving some opportunities to students to help them cover their expenses and they were given some clerical responsibilities to make them feel great and special in some ways. Most of the students were very happy with that and they wanted to work with the company once they graduated.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The area was between the nature and the city center so the cost of living was affordable and easy. There were two local pubs near the company which made the socialising easier for new comers. There was a golf and a tennis course near the company and it was free for the employees as a gift.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I haven't got much experience for the nightlife near the area of the company but I have heard it was on average level. The pubs and some restaurants were helping the local people to dine and having some fun. For the nightlife, you need to go to bigger city centers than the current one.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were many opportunities for the employees and students that wanted to get involved in many activities outside of work as there was a crystal maze, golf and tennis court. Also there was a big park for the people to relax and read books. And also a big and clean nature for nature lovers.
