    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My placement at Warner Bros. was very enjoyable, helped by the amazing staff at the company and the amount of other interns who also work there. It was almost like starting Uni again with nearly 50 other like-minded interns who you work with daily, the social life alongside the work life was brilliant.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my colleagues at Warner Bros. I was often asked by quite senior people my opinion on the films we were releasing as well as the messaging and assets we used to promote the film. I did not feel like an intern who was there to be exploited, I was valued and a fully inergrated member of the team.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was excellent, we had weekly catch ups to discuss how my work was going and if there was anything I needed support with. It was a very open and honest environment and support was always there if you needed it, you can just reach out to your manager or anyone you have a good relationship with in the business.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy on a daily basis, especially when it came closer to the release date of a film we were releasing. I had quite a few late nights getting work done, but because I enjoyed the work so much, it didn't feel like I was under a great deal of stress.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given much more responsibility during my placement than I thought I was going to have, which is great! I was trusted to give my personal feedback and thoughts to agencies and other people in the business on marketing assets and copy. I was also trusted to take the lead on some of our titles.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt far more from working at Warner Bros. than I have during my first two years of university. I think the wort ethic I developed from working will continue to my final year and hold me in great stead to get a great mark. Also beyond university My experience at Warner Bros. has been so valuable and will help me in whatever I do after graduating.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office is great, there is always a constant buzz on my floor and people are always up talking to people face to face rather than using emails. Most people at Warner Bros. get along very well, the employees are very open and approachable, no matter how senior.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My work placement at Warner Bros. was very well organised, probably because it has to be with around 50 interns and apprentices all starting at a similar time. It was very well structured with regular training days and events to help you in your development. There is group of people who look after the placement programme and who will help you with your CV towards the end of your year.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Warner Bros. are very focused on the training and personal development of their employees. There is a training structure throughout the whole year with outside agencies and organisations coming in to teach and develop your skills. You can also take training courses in Photoshop and Excel and much more which the company will pay for.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There are quite a few past interns and apprentices who now work full time at the company. After you leave the organisation they will also keep you in the loop for any upcoming roles that you may be interested in. As long as you have made a good impression whilst working there you should stand a good chance of coming back.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene amongst other interns, apprentices and full time employees is great. A lot of the interns move down to London and live in the same houses. There is always something going on at the weekend with your work friends and I have made friends at Warner Bros. which I will keep in contact with for the rest of my life.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living and working in London is unsurprisingly very expensive. Depending on where you live your rent can be very expensive which is what you will be spending most of your money on. Going out can also be very expensive with London prices, but everyone there is in the same boat as you.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The Warner Bros. UK office is in Holborn which has quite a few good pubs and bars, which everyone like to go to. The office is also a short walk from Soho, Covent Garden and Leicester Square, so you are in a good, central location to go to great places. London nightlife is great, but can be expensive.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were some opportunities to get involved with activities outside of work. We participated in Sleep Out which is a charity helping the homeless. You sleep on the street for a night to raise awareness and money which the company gets involved with. There are also away days for the different departments which are great fun.
