The Role
PwC supported me with excellent training and coaching towards my professional qualification as well as giving me plenty of responsibility over the work I performed.
The grade structure in PwC means that most of the senior employees have been in my situation at one point which means they have an understanding of what we are going through and everyone has plenty of tips and hints to help you settle in and perform your work to a high standard.
There was always at least one person that could be contacted with any queries no matter what they were about. You are given a Buddy and People Manager when you start that you can ask any questions to at any point as well as job managers that you can ask more specific questions to.
Some parts of the year are very busy - Particularly 'busy season' between January and April when you are expected to work the hours required to finish the job.
I was given a lot of responsibility over the areas of work on which I performed and this included feeding back any comments / issues or suggestions back to senior members of staff all the way up to Partners.
The training undertaken to complete the start of the ACA examinations will aid me when returning to uni. I also developed communication and team working skills that I can take forward that will be invaluable in the future.
The Company
Being an Assurance Placement I didn't get to spend too much time in the PwC office but when I did there was always a good atmosphere.
There was always people we could contact with placement related questions and we were put in contact with previous placement students early on.
The company paid for the training and entry fees for the first 7 of the ACA examinations

The placement gives you a good opportunity to show PwC why they should request you back as a graduate.
The Culture
Good social scene amongst other colleagues within PwC.
Cardiff is relatively cheap to live and socialise in - cheaper than other large cities such as Bristol and Birmingham
Cardiff nightlife is cheap and varied with lots of options
I participated in touch rugby and football games with PwC throughout my placement
