    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the insight, I found it really helpful to understand all areas of tax.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone at the firm was incredibly friendly and welcoming, I felt like I was part of the team from day one.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Everyone I spoke to was open to giving advice or help with any issues I was having which helped me learn a lot quicker and made me feel comfortable.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Looking at the financial statements in such detail and analysing them may help with any maths based modules I have at university which require an analytical approach. The soft skills I have picked up however, I believe will help me throughout life in general.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I believe the insight could be structured a lot better, I was lucky enough to be put in a great team who were willing to help me when I needed it as well as actively gave me work to do and kept me busy. However, I do not think that one week is enough time to fully engage with everyone, although it is possible to make it worth your while - depending on the kind of person you are.

    3/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was incredibly friendly, I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. I couldn't have asked for a better team!

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I did not have any specific training or development but I was assigned a mentor and buddy or helped me throughout the week and gauged my interests and career goals. This helped steer me in the correct direction for myself.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I definitely understand what a full time role in the firm would be like as from day one I was involved with client work and worked very closely with the team I was assigned to.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I had heard of the 'friendly' culture at EY but experiencing it is definitely something else. I believe the company culture is rather aligned to the kind of culture I would have liked.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The internship was extremely valuable as it has put me on a more focused path into what I want to go into. The main thing it provided me with is awareness of what kind of roles are available and which ones are more aligned to my skill set.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, my team made sure I connected with people either I wanted to speak to or they thought would be a good idea I speak to. However, the time constraint of the week has somewhat prevented some opportunities.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking was a more one to one chat around the office.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, somewhat.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend. I believe it has been an incredibly valuable experience which has consolidated my career path in the future. It is worth applying to if you have no clue in terms of what you would like from a career as well as if you do know and just want to make sure.
