    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement because I got to meet loads of new people as well as the fact that I learnt a lot of skills such as time management, organisational and leadership skills. I learnt to work long hours which will make any job in the future a lot easier to deal with.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I always felt valued by my colleagues as the working environment was always a fun and friendly place where we worked as a team to get things done.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was always given support by my management as they were always there when I had any problems or questions. They were always approachable so I always felt comfortable asking for help.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I worked in a very busy branch which meant that I was constantly pushed to the limit. This meant I learnt a lot very quickly which is something I can apply to any future job or studies. There was always something to do which also helped the day go quicker and feel less stressful.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was always given a lot of responsibility as this is what the role involved as it is meant to help you prepare for promotion. I personally feel that given responsibility also keeps you motivated because when given a lot of tasks, I felt motivated to get them done.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed has definitely helped me with my studies as I have learnt to get things done on the go/within a time frame rather than leaving everything last minute.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Quite literally, the fun never stopped (unless there was a serious problem) but this made going to work so much easier.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement is set up quite well as you get goals that you have to meet in order to get promoted. These goals are given straight away so you can get to it which makes it clear as to what step you need to take next.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invested a fair amount as I always had support from my management and was taught something (almost) daily. Although sometimes it could have been more firm and formal in order to push promotion more often.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Future employment is quite appealing as you can literally work yourself to the top which is something not all companies offer. Everyone has started from the bottom which makes this more motivating however there are very high expectations for you to be able to move up.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was always a good social scene. I know that most branches including mine would regularly go for dinners and drinks as well as the whole area that would meet for a night out which was always fun! There was also always opportunity to get together for charity events and conferences.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • You do not have much time out of work to socialise as the hours are fairly long however everyone in the office becomes your best friend which is lovely to have in a full time job.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • N/A

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There as always an opportunity to get involved in charity events which also meant that you could meet a lot of different people in the company.
