    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Intel is a great company to work for. Everyone is extremely kind and always ready to help. I was made very comfortable in my team from day 1. However, it is extremely dynamic and there is constant change. All the time.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The culture at Intel and particularly in BMG (Business Management Group) is like that of a family. Everyone is always willing to lend a helping hand and will make time for you whenever required.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Having an On the Job coach is a great value add. Due to the constant change I have had 3 managers in my 12 months at Intel and having an OTJC has helped me to settle in well despite the change.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My job role in Particular requires constant customer interaction and a lot of the times I (and everyone else in the team) felt we were maxed out. As the team is new and wasn't very structured in the beginning, we were extremely understaffed.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt like I had enough responsibility and accountability. Wasn't ever treated as an 'intern' and am always treated like any other member of the team.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Constant customer interaction has helped with my people skills. Overall I have developed as an individual, that being said I am not sure as to how much will be useful for my degree.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere, everyone is very kind and always up for a chat

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • for my role in particular, it was not well organised at all. Due to organisational changes, we were 6 interns who ended up doing a different job to the one we were hired for. This was very demoralising. The lack of structure in the new role meant that we were often overworked.

    1/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There have been several mandatory/optional training courses throughout the year!

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Financial Bonus

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There are several opportunities to get hired back at Intel. They often hire interns back as graduates after University.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • As there are around 45 other placement students at Intel, the social scene has been extremely good and definitely one of the biggest perks of working at Intel.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Swindon is not very expensive to live in. The average rent would be aropund £400/month

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Swindon is not the greatest place for a night out. There are only a handful pubs we would go out to.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The Intel sports and social club is very active and there are many opportunities to get involved in recreational/competitive activities

    4/5
