    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The week I spent as Walker Morris was not only intellectually stimulating and interesting, but also an enjoyable one. The involvement you gain in the departments that you work in, and the extent of contact you get with employees within that department allows you to see how friendly the firm is, from para-legal and trainee all the way up to partner level. I would recommend to anyone to apply for this opportunity.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The week is not spent behind closed doors, I did work that was used by employees in their later work, and this appreciation of the work that you do is evident. I felt that all my work was received with thanks, and was greatly appreciated. Further, the feeling of being valued extends to a cultural level within the firm, in that anyone that you met would be more than happy to talk with you.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The guidance I received was well judged, and from what I could gather from other interns, was judged on your ability and involvement in the law at previous stages (i.e. in education). This support allowed me not only to produce work that was of sufficient quality to be used in practice, but also to allow me to push myself and overcome new challenges.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe that the information that I have received from the firm in relation to the careers prospects, the role of trainees, and the recruitment process as a whole has definitely assisted me with my plans post-graduation, and the use of written tasks, and negotiations helps to give me more experience in those situations.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The structure, of the insight was clear and allowed for sufficient time to get to know the department, and get involved with work alongside the tasks that were necessary for your assessment by the firm, there was also opportunities that extended outside of working times that were also well structured.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was a communal one. The trainees and interns spoke easily and freely, and the partners, though appreciably busy were also open to speak when they had time. The atmosphere of the insight definitely represented the atmosphere of the firm as a whole with a degree of clarity.
