    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the Leading Women programme. For a week, I was able to shadow and work with women from different positions at EY. They took the time to answer my questions, give advice, and involved me in their projects. I met employees at all levels and got to learn about their career and progression, which were all inspiring.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt extremely valued during my time at EY. Although I was there for a week only, all employees I worked with gave me a project to work on. The work I completed was useful for their projects and thought me a lot about the service line I was in. I also receive constructive feedback from all.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The entire week was well organised. I had a buddy/mentor for the entire week who supported me. Each women I shadowed were also very helpful, answering any questions I had. I also had career counselling session at the end of the week, to reflect on my experience and what I've learned, and also talk about next steps and future career aspirations.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme was very organised. I had a specific schedule with a different person every day, but each day was different. I also had a journal in which I set my objectives of the week, and completed a daily log. This allowed me to make the most of my experience and keep track of everything I achieved and learned.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The people's culture at EY is great. Everyone is so helpful and nice and I felt like I could ask anything. The general atmosphere is friendly and there is a strong sense of community. All the women I met introduced me at some point to other members of their team.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • For a week, the support I received exceeded my expectations. I received feedback for all projects I got involved in. I also had the chance to talk about my experience with my buddy and a recruiter, who advised me on areas of development. The daily log was also a great way to reflect on my development.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Although I was at EY for a week, I got to experience the people's culture first-hand. Everyone I've met was welcoming, no matter their position. Moreover, the support received and the stories I've heard truly showed the company's culture and community. EY has multiple inclusive networks, and all the people I've met were involved in them.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There are tons of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work. From volunteering for charity, or for inclusive networks, or sports team ... There is also the opportunity to mentor other employees. All employees I've met were involved on side projects outside of work, which is something EY strongly supports.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would recommend the Leading Women to a friend and to any student interested in this sector. The application process is straight forward, the learnings and support received are incredible, experiencing the culture first-hand is a unique opportunity, there is a remuneration, and you have the opportunity to get fast-tracked to an interview for their grad scheme.
