    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Greatly useful and insightful as it was my first corporate position and I had never experienced a placement before. There were many opportunities available to get involved in many different tasks and teams and everyone was very nice to work with and interact with. I would Deffo recommend this to everyone

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel very valued as they have taken the time to learn about me and understand what my weaknesses are and what my strengths are. They know what to do to get the best out of me and they always expose me to as much as possible to see all sides.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a high level of support by my managers and everyone else around me to ensure i was able to fulfil all my potential and the pre set goals I had set myself prior to starting my placement. I would have many meetings to discuss my progress wirh my manager

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Initially I was not doing very much as I was learning a lot and hadn't been trained on my team's daily tasks. However this picked up and I was involved in many projects and I decided to get myself as involved as possible to ensure i alwyas had work to do.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot to do and would carry out the tasks my team members were doing just to a lower level until i had learned what they did. I was also in charge of running important meetings and organise charity days for senior leaders. This was very exciting and made me enjoy responsibility

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned so many people skills as well as corporate life skills. My analytical skills were further enhanced as I was working with large amounts of data and cleansing the date to make it useful . This helped me develop an analytical eye and pay more attention to detail which will be useful for any future career I decide to go into.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly and warm atmosphere where everyone is comfortable with each other and can talk about anything. Although very professional we always had a laugh and we were involved in many of the conversations and informal talks as well as our own daily tasks as well. Everyone smiled and was lovely

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was quite well organised however could have been better by having a clear hand over period and letting students know about all the details of the placement. With a job description that was easy to understand and practical to use as well. If this could have been done the placement would be more smooth initially

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They allowed for training courses and development days away which was great to see however this just depends on the team you're in and what your able to do. However overall there are opportunities for these kind of activities to further enhance your potential and hence for the company to invest in us.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • As it's got a very calm and tame culture it is definitely a place I want to visit again and potentially work for in the future once I have established myself well. I can see myself wirh a role in this company whenI'm a bit older and have a direct career path

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes there were always leaving or birthday drinks as well as our monntlh work drinks which was a lot of fun. We also had charity days where we could interact with other people we didn't know in our wider team socially or though energy day tasks where we could engage with them

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Brentford is quite expensive as it west London however it's not as bad as central London so it is affordable for general living and socialising costs. There are decent and cheap bars and restaurants and working in Brentford allows you to further explore the surrounding areas and everywhere else near it.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • As it wasn't in central it wasn't that good however you could easily get into central and explore the surrounding areas by train as t only took around 30 mins or so. There were some bars and clubs however not as many as in central however I prefer that to central expenses

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are many volunteering opportunities available and .can be presented if you are proactive and want to be involved however you have to chase it yourself and want to do more yourself. There were also ip leadeeship roles that could be taken inside the actual placement team as well as the workplace .
