    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Enterprise has been really fun, a great environment to work in. It has taught me a lot, not just work wise, but as a person myself. I learnt how to be patient and understanding but also acquired new skills that I can put on my CV that I didn't learn anywhere else.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was very friendly and supportive. We all worked as a team and we looked out for each other. There was not a day that was too difficult because we all had each others support. And if there was ever an issue between colleagues, the management would always solve that.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager and I always had supervision sessions, one to one sessions and lunches outside of the workplace during which I was given plenty of support. My manager was also very helpful and approachable which made it easier for me if I ever had any issues. My area manager was also very involved and always helped out if I had any queries.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The branch that I worked at was extremely busy! If we were not busy with customers, we were busy with the admin side of the job. There was always something to do and the job was very hands on. Sometimes it was a struggle to get through the day, but when you meet your goals for the day, its rewarding.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The responsibility at this placement was more than any other job I have ever had previously. I always had jobs to do and goals to meet and it was always very busy as well so it made it slightly harder to achieve all of those, as stated previously. overall, it was enough to keep me busy

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills that I have picked up and all the things that I have learnt was everything I needed to prepare me for the most important year of my studies - the final year. I am more organized now, have better time management skills, I have a different understanding of my responsibilities and this job has always kept me on edge and on my feet, preparing me for the hard work I will need to put in when I return to university. The things I have learnt changed me and has been a breath of fresh air.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere at the office was very fun and exiting. Every one of the team members usually got on really well and there was not a morning where i didn't look forward to coming to work. Even though sometimes people had personal issues and were unhappy, it never affected the atmosphere enough to ruin other peoples moods.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • the overall work placement was very organized. I had regular feedback and regular sessions to go through my goals. i met with my branch manager and my area manager quite often, and they made me feel welcome and made things clear for me as to what they expect of me and what I need to do to reach that.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My manager gave a lot of her hours throughout the year to develop me, including sessions to prepare me for the qualification test (skills test) and also the managers qualification test to promote to Managers Assistant. I also had help from other managers who always helped me with any questions I had.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • At the moment, I am exploring my different options in the company, from continuing to work part time during my final year at university and considering returning after I graduate. The promotion opportunities at this company are really good because everyone is promoted internally, and there is a lot of support with that.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • there was only one other person at my working environment who was also an intern for his university. we had quite a few social nights out or dinners or simply days out, and that was between all the colleagues. Employees at enterprise rent a car really know how to have a good time.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home with my family, and had to maintain the costs of running a car, but the area that I worked in only affected this in a positive manor. I worked only 15/20 mins away from my home which was very convenient as I did not have to live out or move away from home.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The night life in the area I worked in was something that I was used to as I worked near home. So that did not really affect me too much. However, we did go out quite a few times with the colleagues which was fun for me as I did not have to travel far to get home

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There have always been opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work such as charity work, and charity events. Also there were many sales competitions which allowed us to be involved with different people and also opened up doors to networking in the area but also in the company.
