    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Enterprise. It was easy to get on with my team but most importantly I was continuously trained on the job. The company invests in you to become a manager and they want you to succeed. I gained a lot of skills and I learnt a lot about myself. The team that works at Enterprise are great and I am excited to continue working for them!

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I always felt valued by my colleagues, especially when I first joined my team, I was the only ethnic person in my group and it is very easy to feel belittled but I was not. My manager was always considerate of my religion, giving me time off when I needed, not being able to eat certain foods etc. My manager would always ensure that on big events such as branch meetings we would go to a place that suited me and I am touched by my teams efforts.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My managers have been supportive throughout my career. When I was still new, my manager was patient and continuously would provide any guidance I needed. Now preparing for my MQI, my managers put time aside for me to help me go through any tips and any revision I need.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Continuously busy which did sometimes feel straining and exhausting. I would work 50+ hour weeks and working early the following day after finishing late can be mentally draining. Sometimes there is not always a work life balance. But I've always enjoyed my job and I have no issue with working late, because at enterprise they reward hard work.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had quite a fair bit of responsibility pretty much immediately when I started with the company. Enterprise wants you to progress and get promoted so they try and give you as much responsibility from the beginning to help your progression such as managing a branch - also referred to as day running, at around 7 months.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt to work better in teams, manage my time efficiently, complete tasks in a timely manner and more. All these skills are essential to my studies at University and likewise, I have been able to apply many of the skills I learnt during my studies in my job.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Happy, everyone would always laugh and make you instantly feel welcome. My team were a great bunch and it was easy to get on with them. Even though days would be super busy, my team would reward hard work, and it always made it feel better to be at work.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organized, immediately I was handed over a training folder which you work on through your placement and you complete various tasks. Without completion of this you are unable to progress with your placement.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company continuously held training events every two months or so in various business practices, to also make sure we were up to date with all the processes and the opportunity to learn anything new.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Healthcare/Dental

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing, providing you work hard, it is easy to progress in your role. You can get promoted to an Assistant manager a few months after graduating.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes there was, it was always easy to get along with everyone and we always have social events with work colleagues.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It didn't cost anything to have a social life with work. Outside of work everything is pretty affordable.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Good! there are a lot of clubs and bars, and restaurants and regularly Friday nights and Saturday nights would be busy.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • No! You work a lot of hours so it is hard to find time to make time for anything else outside of work.
