The Role
I very much enjoyed my placement
All the staff no matter who or where are always happy to help a colleague they've never even met.
The support and training provided was exceptional
At times I did find myself with nothing to do, but other days I would be very busy.
Towards the end of my placement I was given a project with responsibility.
I have already found the knowledge and acumen learned are helping me complete my degree.
The Company
Dispite their large corporate reputation GSK is an extremely laid back environment
Their placement scheme is very well established and I had no problems getting started
There were prepared to invest as much time as they could, but not prepared to spend anything financially on training.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
It is very hard to gain a place on their graduate programme. Personally I feel they spend too much time and finance on the placement scheme when they should focus more on the graduate scheme
The Culture
There was a brilliant social scene between other students, it was just like being at university.
It was very expensive in London, but as expected. The salary was average for the cost of living.
London...need I say more?
There were often GSK events that we were invited to and the students often arranged football tournaments and social events.
