The Role
I enjoyed this placement greatly and would highly recommend it to anyone studying an IT and/or business-related course who has a keen interest in film as you are given the chance to work with pre-release theatrical content in an industry leading company.
In the role my colleagues instantly made me feel like a part of the team. It feels that my help is often required and my opinion is taken into consideration.
The support and guidance I have received has been excellent, my managers are always willing to talk and help in any situation as is the rest of my colleagues. There has never been an instance I have felt I was ever working solely on my own.
There are certainly times where you are quite busy but there are also quieter periods that allow you to complete any work that you have left over. Overall, it's a pretty good balance.
I feel one of the placements greatest strengths is the amount of responsibility you take on. My main responsibility was coordinating the UK theatrical releases which includes many varied subtasks and working alongside many different departments throughout the business. You also have other day-to-day tasks that can greatly differ from assisting with special screenings to helping the trailer team.
I have learnt a lot over my placement year. I have learnt skills related to my course and skills that I feel I can use in my future working life. It has also been interesting to learn about the film industry and how a huge international company operates.
The Company
The office atmosphere has always been quite relaxed which has been nice especially when the work has gotten 'not so relaxed'.
The placement has been very well organised, both Warner Bros and the University of Greenwich has helped me at every step and made the whole process seamless.
There were many opportunities to attend courses, training sessions and lectures teaching about numerous aspects of the business. Some of these were department based and some were open to the whole company.

Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
My department has a very low hire rate, however the two previous interns to do my jobs have had employment within the company so there is a chance of future employment.
The Culture
The company allowed many opportunities for the interns to socialise including a 'meet the interns' day just before we started to meet everyone and a companywide Christmas party.
Working and living in London means there is never a day where you find nothing to do, however it is also very expensive. Rent is expensive in London, but it is an amazing city to live in full of many experiences.
Warner Bros is located in Holborn which is right in the centre of London, the night life is great with endless places to go and things to do.
We were given many of activities to involve are self in, ranging from charitable events to social events like film premieres.
