    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The year I've spent at Warner Bros has been amazing! I've been given a great overview of how a large business works and now have such great experience to carry forward. On top of this, the social aspect of the internship is incredible - this year we had plenty of socials.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt like my colleagues really appreciated me joining and being around (I am the first intern in my position). I've been placed in a great team and felt welcomed from day one! Going out for a drink with them all after a long Friday happens too which is nice.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • While working at Warner Bros., I have received been given a fair amount of support by my managers who are often meeting with me to discuss my tasks for the week (including a team meeting on Mondays to discuss all important tasks). I feel a monthly progression catch-up wouldn't have gone amiss however.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Due to the nature of a job in Finance, my rate of work varied. When it came to Month and Quarter-end I became extremely busy - for me this was perfect as I enjoy a fast-paced day. However some times during the quieter times I do find myself with slightly less to do.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was quite quickly given a decent level of responsibility when I joined, and this only increased as the internship went on. Throughout the year I was being given fairly significant projects. On top of this I was fairly regularly liaising with many of our territories we deal with across the world.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think this year will prove invaluable to me in the years to come with the skills I have gained/improved on. Working in a full time job is something that I've never experienced before but it has taught me that time management is massive. I have also learnt technical skills such as improved my accounting knowledge and skill level on Excel.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Again, it depended on where we were in the monthly/quarterly cycle - but most of the time it was pretty chilled out. The team I work in are quite chatty and we get on very well. Sometimes it does get a bit quiet when we are in a busy period and everyone is focused on working which is not unexpected.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Extremely well, the process of joining was seamless and smooth. There were many introduction talks set up specifically for interns as well, to make us feel comfortable early on - as well as a social before the internship actually started so we can get to meet people we will be working with and find possible housemates.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of time invested - my team have invested plenty to ensure I am equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform my day-to-day tasks. Money-wise, there are a long list of classes available for any staff to take that will be funded by the company (often quite expensive without the fund).

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Above 25 days holiday

    Travel loan

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Unlike a lot of company that offer large internship programmes, Warner Bros. do not have an official graduate scheme. However I know of a lot of interns that have ended up going back after having graduated anyway! My contract has also been extended in to the summer so.. who knows!

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There is a fantastic social scene amongst the interns of Warner Bros.! I think there has been around 50 interns this year and we've all got on great - going on socials very regularly after work as well as on the weekends. It's very easy to make some good mates.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being in London, of course everything is rather pricey. I am renting in a place in Clapham and it is very expensive to live. However socially, you can actually do cheap nights out if you play your cards right. Plenty of cocktail happy hours to go to after work finishes.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
