About You
I really enjoyed the Spring Into Banking Deutsche Bank. It was a brilliant experience. It gave me a great insight into life at Deutsche Bank. It definitely shaped my future career path and had an impact of my expectations of future workplaces in the financial sector. Overall it was a fantastic experience.
I felt very valued by DB. Especially when we had the desk-shadowing, the employees gave us plenty of time to ask questions and interact with different people.
There was a great amount of support given to us as students. The desk-shadowing was an amazing experience that let the employees give us great guidance and tips. We were supported throughout. We were also given plenty of guidance on how to travel to different locations over the week. We were also given a voucher for lunch too.
Since attending the Spring Into Banking week I have a list of things I want to accomplish out of interest and to help further develop my knowledge professionally and personally. The desk-shadowing let me interact one-on-one with employees so that they could give me tips and advice on how to develop my skills.
The Company
There was a very clear structure to the program from the offset. Everything was scheduled to perfection and they managed to fit so much into 5 days, which was amazing. This meant that we learnt so much and also got a chance to go to Canary Wharf for the desk-shadowing aspect of the week.
Everybody was very energetic and positive which was due to the HR recruitment for Technology, Sherry and Laura. They were brilliant because they created such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for us. All the students were very friendly but I did notice quite and abundance of people from London. The CiB part of the Spring week was much more competitive than the Technology part. Overall the atmosphere was brilliant.
The company offered a lot of preparation for our assessment center on the Friday. The inevitably will stand to us when applying for future jobs or internships. The process was very tough but worthwhile. DB also offered us a presentation on how to present yourself to clients and another workshop on the values of DB.
The desk-shadowing was a great insight into what it was like to have a full time role at the company. The company prides itself on being highly adaptive with new technologies and offer a great work life balance to employees within DB. There are plenty of opportunities for promotion and learning within DB.
The culture of the company was amazing. They are extremely diversified. The company is also highly adaptable and is constantly evolving with technologies that emerge. DB also have a great work life balance for its employees. There is also opportunities for rotation for DB employees to different divisions or programs.
I know exactly what career is for me. The feedback from the assessment center gave me a great insight to which Technology role suits me. They gave me a lot of personal feedback which has definitely altered my perception of my skills and talents. It has also opened my eyes to the opportunities that DB offers students.
Everything Else
DB paid for my flights and my travel expenses to and from the airport. I also was given accommodation in a Hotel on Liverpool Street which was only a 10 minute walk from the DB building. Breakfast was not included. We were also given a Starbucks voucher for the days when we were on desk-shadowing.
Yes, with the desk-shadowing and networking events there was plenty of opportunites.
They were a great way to make networking connections and to ask questions about divisions and roles within DB.
Employees have time for self-learning within there schedules which I thought was a brilliant way of educating the workforce.
Yes definitely. The Spring Into Banking Week was a brilliant experience.
