About You
I really enjoyed the insight because I found out everything I set out to learn and more. It was an opportunity to be open-minded and absorb as much as possible, and the staff at Morgan Stanley enabled that because they were all friendly and open.
I felt very valued. Certain staff especially went out of their way to find out more about me and my colleagues, which was a nice feeling. Again, everyone we spoke to was happy to answer questions and offer advice, so I definitely felt valued there.

Hard to say. I learned a lot about the investment banking industry, which doesn't relate to many degree courses. In terms of skills, I would say my transferable skills were developed, such as the ability to work under pressure and communication skills.
The Company
Very well. We were given clear timetables and were always given explanations for what was about to happen next.
Open and welcoming. The team did a great job of making sure that everyone felt comfortable and ready to start the day.
Not a great deal. As it was an insight week and not really an internship/placement, we spent more time learning about the firm as opposed to gaining new skills.
Staff were very honest and transparent so I believe I have a good idea of what it would be like to work at the firm.

Extremely valuable. The staff in the division I chose were very passionate when speaking about what they do and their work sounded very interesting.
Everything Else
Travel was reimbursed; accommodation was provided free of charge; we were given lunch cards with £20 on them for the week.
Yes, every day there was an opportunity to network. On the penultimate evening we had a networking dinner.
Some were better than others. Staff not having name tags or their divisions meant it was easy to get stuck speaking to someone who's division you had already learned about/were not as interested in.
Yes. We learned that they do a lot of charity work, are part of faith and cultural groups etc.
Absolutely. It's a great way to get your foot in the door, even if it doesn't lead to immediate conversion.
