    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I absolutely loved the insight. It was very well organised and the days were structured in such a way that allowed for a great deal of networking and a valuable insight into life at the company. It was great to see what work in the technology industry is like and it proved to be very valuable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Despite the fact that we were 'only' spring interns, we were treated brilliantly. Many senior members of the business took time out of their busy day to discuss our careers and ambitions with us and with the work shadowing element we were given a very valuable insight into how employees work here.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Any questions or supports we may have needed were made available and they consistently went out of their way to ensure that all spring interns enjoyed their week. As someone travelling internationally to this I was delighted with the help afforded to me.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My field of study is very relevant to the work undertaken by the people I shadowed and met throughout the week so there is no doubt in my mind the this week has played a formative role in my career path. We also learned the Agile methodology which will prove extremely useful.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • We were given a timetable on the first day which was jam-packed and this was adhered to. This allowed for us to make the most of our time within the company and there was no wasted time whatsoever. Every minute was enjoyable and the structure could not be faulted at all.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • There was a very relaxed and positive atmosphere throughout my insight. There is no doubt that the work they do here is very important but there is a great buzz around the place and it's quite clear that employees love what they do. This enthusiasm was infectious and made out week all the more enjoyable.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were brought out for meals, accommodated and given a great deal of time by the company whilst we were here so it's fair to say that there was an incredible amount of time and money invested in us. I was extremely grateful to everyone involved in the program such was the investment in ensuring I enjoyed my time.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Through work shadowing and networking sessions with key business employees, I now feel that I have a very good grasp of what work at this company would be like. We were given the opportunity to ask questions in informal environments with members of staff which provided us with a very valuable insight.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • There was a very laid back and positive atmosphere throughout the campus. It's clear that hard work is extremely important at this company but so is a work-life business, as evidenced by the amount of after-work socials and actives we were told about. All of the employees who spoke to us praised the company culture.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very much so. I was initially apprehensive about working in a bank but any of my preconceived notions have been done away with as I now see that it is a very vibrant career path. This will definitely play a role in my studies as I will now begin to focus my efforts on what is needed for a career in this sector.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • The company paid for my hotel for the entire duration of the program, which included breakfast in the morning. We were given lunch every day at the company and were brought out to dinner for two of the nights and wined and dined. There was a huge investment in us.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes we were given many opportunities to meet with top-brass within the company and discuss with them how they find the company to work for and to get advice on our careers. This was very valuable. We were also able to work shadow and speak to employees in a less formal capacity.
