The Role
It was a good, well rounded experience.
Alhough the placement year is an 'internship' you are treated like a full time employee with all the regular benefits and expectations.
Guidence is given when requested and I was supported by weekly catch ups with my line manager.
I was given a lot of responsibility and remained busy but i was still comfortable.
I was given my own projects to work on and also able to work cross divisionally
The placement year was a little different from my degree topic but it has focused and increased my work ethic and plannng
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office is good. My floor was good fun with a more relaxed feel - music playing etc. The office overall isnt very corporate which could be expected from a big company such as Warner Bros. There are often things going on in the office including a booze trolley on pay day
The programme itself is set up very well with multiple oppertunities to get involved in training activites. From the assesment day to external excel courses the company are willing to invest a lot of time and funds into your experience. Making you a valuable asset to the company and increasing chances of re-employment.
As stated above the company invest heavily in your experience. I was able to participate in external Excel training, attending multiple talks from industry experts and other training excersises set up by HR. These various things aided by experience and allowed me to do things that i wouldnt have been able to do on my own.

There are so many previous interns that are now working full time in the UK office. This is obviously a good sign but there does seem to be limtied oppertunites to get back into the company - its dependent on somebody else leaving etc as there is no graduate scheme.
The Culture
There is a good social scene with regular nights out and lunches etc. In London this does come at quite a big expense and therefore is slightly limited but the overall relationship between the large group of interns is good, starting with the summer meet and great at a Holborn bar.
The cost of living and socialising is extremely high due to being bang in the middle of London. However, this is to be expected for any placement in the city. When out with fulltime colleges the interns rarely have to pay for drinks which is a nice gesture! A fair amount of interns live at home aswell due to the crazy price of rent in the city
The nightlife in the city is great! With the offices being in zone 1 next to covent garden and farringdon there are obviously muliple bars and pubs to go to which is great for enhanceing the intern experience. You get all the benefits of living in the city for a year
Yes, there are loads of things to get involved in, My house mates and i all got involved in the 7 a side football league in Holborn that takes place at lunch time in holborn. The team consists of a mixture of full time employees and interns and fixtures are played against other media companies
