    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Absolutely loved the insight week, it was jam-packed with amazing content that provided me with an incredible insight into the bank, in terms of who they are, what they do and how they do it. It was organised incredibly well, by a great team and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering to take part.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt incredibly valued during my time at the bank, everyone made sure to take the time for us to answer any questions or queries we had. It was amazing for the bank to invest so much into us and I really had a great time at the bank. 10/10.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Leading up to the spring week, we were given a lot of support, the team made it so that if we had any questions we could easily just email asking for any guidance. Over the course of the week, we were given timetables which told us where to be and when to be there. The HR team and other's from DB made sure to always be around to help us with anything, and many presentations were given to prepare us for the week and all the events.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information and skills I received over the course of the week will prove to be incredibly beneficial for my studies, career and personal development. This was a great chance to develop my skills, with multiple opportunities to take part in many activities that proved to be incredibly helpful. The insight you gain from how the bank operates, and why it undertakes the activities it does really develop your understanding of the industry.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was incredibly well organised by a great HR team who left no stone unturned to ensure that we had a great week, and to gain valuable skills that will definitely aid our personal development. The amount of time invested in planning this insight week was amazing, and it was incredible. One that I would recommend to anyone looking to gain an understanding of the financial sector.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was just as it should have been, very calm and relaxed. There were many engaging presentations and fun activities that really kept us entertained and wanting more. There was absolutely no pressure over the course of the week, which really put to rest any nerves that I had and thus enabled me to fully engage myself with the week.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm really did invest a lot into us, the provided us with so many opportunities to learn and gain an insight into the company. The team planned presentations, talks, networking events, social events, work shadowing and so much more. This was an incredible week which really did develop our understanding and skills.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight week was planned really well, there was so much information provided to us with many key opportunities for us to really engage ourselves. The work shadowing opportunities really gave us an insight into to the type of work that is conducted at DB, and I feel as if I am starting to understand what it would be like to have full time role. Of course, there is so much more for me to learn but I have no doubt DB will provide us many more opportunities to do so. Also as with everything, it really comes down to how engaged you are with the week as well, you really have to take the opportunity to get involved and make the most of it, ask questions, pay attention, focus, and have fun!

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight week provided us with many chances to look into what the company culture is like. Talking to the many employees over the course of the week in their offices and in networking events really allowed us to see the types of people that work at the firm. It was incredible to see that so many people provided us with their time and invested so much into us. A great diverse firm, with a very relaxed but hardworking culture.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I would say that the most valuable part of the week was the work shadowing opportunities I was given. I was able to speak with many experienced individuals and learn so much into the types work that they do, and what role they and their department play in the bigger picture. I was able to talk to someone who really gave me a great insight into the role I was interested in. So for me, the content was an incredible value to me and I would say that it really was an amazing opportunity.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was provided with accommodation to stay at over the course of the week, which really helped me out considering that I live a couple hours from London. Furthermore, we are also provided with a form that allows us to be reimbursed the expenses for our travel to and from the hotel.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, over the course of the week there were many networking opportunities planned for us. The first was for us to network and build relationships with the other interns also part of the spring week, and one of the others was with senior members of the firm. I had a great opportunity to take the initiative and network in my own time with the colleagues at the firm, which I recommend to everyone.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking/social events were really great and well planned. I had a great opportunity to connect with the other interns and colleagues at the firm and hence be able to build great relationships with those around me. Also, a lot of food was provided which was also great. Highly enjoyed my time.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I was not able to find out too much about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work, but there are opportunities for employees to volunteer and help out. Also, there is a good social vibe too! Great fun, I should have asked more questions about this but of course, the HR is great and will always be willing to answer any questions we may have.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would absolutely recommend this to a friend or anyone for that matter, this was a great opportunity for me and really provided me with an incredible chance to develop my skills and knowledge which will definitely prove to be invaluable to anything I decide to do in the future.
