    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The internship at J.P.Morgan was great! It really provided me with a broad overview into Finance and Business Management at the firm, which is what I needed to know whether this is what I wish to do later in life. I really liked the overall culture of the organisation and the people were incredibly nice and open! I think it was very helpful for me personally because it provided me with the information I needed to figure out that this is the field I want to work in later in the future.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I think J.P.Morgan is probably one of the only banks where I felt a very strong organisational culture based on merit which I think really puts forward what you're valued for as an individual. The staff was very nice and always available for us- people from all the different levels of the firm took time to come speak to us about their role and position and answer questions which really gave me a true insight into the division and made me feel welcomed and valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The internship in itself was incredibly helpful in terms of figuring out whether this side of banking interested me or not, which now I know it does! We were given loads of opportunities to ask questions and I think having a 3 day program was really the best to learn more about the industry and F&BM. The staff was always there and prepared to answer any question we had which was really insightful.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I really enjoyed the internship because on top of providing us with information related to what a job in F&BM is like and the overall context of the division, J.P.Morgan went beyond and gave us tips for our CVs and interview skills and also organised team-building activities that refined my communication and team-working skills. The staff really tried to prepare us for our probable future application for the summer internship which I think really gives us an advantage and is also very good to have for future reference.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The 3 day spring internship was very well organised. We always had something interesting to do that benefited us in terms of improving our skills or giving us insight into the industry. It was intense but very beneficial and well paced. I personally enjoyed all of the activities that were organised for us and found them really relevant to what we had signed up for.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere at J.P.Morgan was really great! I thought everyone was really professional but also at the same time was designed for us to get a feel of the organisation in a way that was relaxed but insightful. The other interns were really nice and easy to talk to and the staff was very welcoming and tried to make us feel as comfortable as possible.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think the staff at J.P.Morgan really tried its best to develop and refine the skills we already had and that will be necessary later on in the future to apply for the summer internship, which puts us in a great position and also made me feel that they really try to retain the people in which they invest in.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I really enjoyed the panels and talks that people at all levels of the firm gave, which really gave us raw insight into what it is like working for J.P.Morgan. I also really liked the work shadowing rotations on the last day which provided us with information about what grads do and the different and various divisions available to us in the future if we are able to get a full time offer.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • All of the staff that I spoke with or heard during panels really radiate the culture of the organisation which I think is about excellence, open-mindedness and diversity. I could really tell that the people there are not only employed because of their skills and talent but also because their values and what they believe in really align with the company's culture and what it stands for.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • This spring week helped me realise that this is where I wish to work later on in my professional life. The internship reinforced my passion for finance and business management and motivated me in my studies to hopefully get the summer internship next year. Overall it was really insightful and will really benefit anyone in terms of experience and acquiring new skills.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • The internship in itself was not paid but if you had to commute, whether you lived in London or not, the organisation paid for all your travel expenses and provided us with breakfast and lunch.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were loads of opportunities for networking whether that was with other people doing the internship, past summer interns that had been offered a position as grads, current grads working in divisions and seniors. The staff at J.P.Morgan really encouraged us to use this internship as an opportunity for networking.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • I think the events were very professional but at the same time great because it was in a relaxed setting/environment which really made us feel comfortable and confident to go speak to other people.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We had a talk about philanthropy on one of the days which gave us insight into the multiple opportunities that employees are provided with during their time at J.P.Morgan. The staff talked to us about a lot of business resource groups for employees and the different activities that they can get involved with.
