    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Loved it! Very interactive and useful. It consisted of several talks and introductions to investment banking (M&A, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, and Restructuring), work shadowing sessions with analysts in two different teams, technical training with FitchLearning, case studies such as Coca-cola and Alfa IPO, assessment centre workshops and a case study presentation.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt extremely valued. Everyone is very friendly and happy to chat about what it is like to work at the firm, deals they've done and personal experiences. There is also work shadowing in two different teams and a project assignment in small groups. Overall, a great overview of what the job is like on a day to day basis.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Introductory sessions, together with FitchLearning, the case studies and work shadowing and the networking sessions gave us the guidance and space to ask any questions or doubts we may have either with regards to what a typical day looks like, about the different business areas as well as the project assignment that we had to prepare for the end of the week.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The Spring Insight Programme was very useful mostly, in my opinion, to discover what it is like to work for Rothschild in the different business areas and what skills are required for each. It is extremely helpful to make a conscious career choice when applying for summer internships and afterward graduate programmes.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The Spring Insight Programme was a week long and it consisted of various introductions to the different business areas in Rothschild such as Investment Banking (M&A, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, and Restructuring) and Private Wealth, networking drinks and lunches, technical training session with FitchLearning as well as assessment centre workshops, introduction to pitchbooks and presentations and volunteer work. It was very well organised and structured.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere during the Spring Insight Programme was just great. Everyone is very friendly and approachable and seem really happy to be there as well as very happy to be part of their respective teams. Colleagues from the Spring Insight Programme were also very friendly and understanding, which made it easier to work in groups for the presentations.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • It was a short programme that only lasted one week, however, Rothschild provides formal training for the summer internship as well as for the graduate programme. For the graduate programme, grads from all offices around the world come to London for the training, enabling juniors to meet people from other offices from the start.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The Spring Insight Programme was very helpful to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with Rothschild. This is because we were able to work shadow two analysts in two different teams and ask any questions we wanted to know about what they were doing.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Being at the firm full time for a week was a great way to understand the culture at the company.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The Spring Insight Programme was a great way to find out what goes on at the firm and what is the task for the analysts on a day to day basis. This was very helpful to decide on a future career path since it gives a hands-on experience of what it is like to work as a junior at the firm

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, there were a few networking sessions during the week. However, even though we met several Directors, Analysts, and Associates, it would have been nice to also meet more Managing Directors working at the firm. It was inspiring to see that there is a good number of people who have stayed at Rothschild for almost their entire career.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Great and interactive. Some of them consisted of networking drinks or lunches and other sessions included speed networking in different groups.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, employees can also get involved in volunteering for instance. As part of the Spring Insight, we were able to take part of a volunteering session too.m

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely. Not only you discover the world of investment banking and the culture at the firm, but it is also a great hands on experience of what it would be like to be an analyst there.
