    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the time at the J.P. Morgan Spring Into Technology Programme. The activities were planned very well. They provided a good insight into the work life at J.P. Morgan, especially the workshadowing events. Other group activities such as the Kanban board activity helped explain the concepts of agile development.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The office had a surprisingly informal atmosphere which allowed me to talk to other employees in the break area and ask them some questions about their work. The people I met at J.P. Morgan were very open and friendly. I feel that the work atmosphere is definitely one of J.P. Morgan's strengths.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The guidance varied from project to project. For example, for the robot challenge, we did not receive a lot of guidance, but that might have been the intention of the activity. In other activities such as the agile development, there was more guidance, as the purpose of the activity was explained very well.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There were a variety of group projects that aimed at familiarising ourselves with certain topics related to software development. For example, the Kanban board activity helped explain the concepts of agile development. Furthermore, the group projects helped build teamwork and effective communication skills. The work shadowing events also helped me because they gave me a clearer idea of how a job at J.P. Morgan would be like.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The structure of this insight was very good. The agenda was carefully planned through. I did not feel like activities were too long or too short. For the three days that the programme took, there was a lot of activities to do. Splitting the large group of 70 students into two smaller groups definitely helped as well.
