About You
I really enjoyed the insight programme. People at the company are all willing to help and answer my questions with patience and insights. The culture of DB is impressive. Also, I learnt a lot from the presentations, showcases and work shadowing. I also met many like-minded peers and extended my networks.
I really feel valued at the company. Although we are just first-year students, we were able to work shadow in the company and discuss insights with the people there. Moreover, we could get access to different learning materials and even attend the meeting to know what it is really like working at DB.
I gained a lot of support along the way. The HRs are always patient with us and guide us smoothly along the whole process. While we were there for the work shadowing, everyone was so willing to provide the immediate help and want us to learn as much as we can from the experience.
I really appreciate what I have learnt. This makes me realise the importance of what we are learning currently and enable me to know in which area I should improve myself in the future. Moreover, it also enables me to realise my real passion. This will not be gained without first-hand experience.
The Company
The programme is really well-structured. We were given the learning materials a few weeks before the programme started. For the first few days, we were given the presentations to know basic knowledge required and the overview of the company as a whole. Then through work shadowing, we were able to know what division we would like to work in the future.
The atmosphere was friendly and helpful. All the staff were willing to help. From the analysts to the managing directors, they were there to answer our questions and provide available guidance. My peers were also nice and kind. We could work together and help one another during the whole programme.
The company invested a lot. Many different types of events were scheduled and we could see the workplace from different perspectives. By work shadowing, we were also able to ask close questions and got the immediate reply. We were also given the opportunity to network with senior managers and peers.
I quite understand what I would never do without the exposure into this programme. Everyone could explain to me how it was like working at DB and from their behaviour and working style, I got to know what it means working at DB. The longer we stay at DB, the better we know how it is like.
A lot. Because there are so many opportunities we could get in close touch with the people working at DB. They are also very willing to share with us their own feelings working at DB. Through the first-hand experience working at DB, I could feel the culture of DB as well.
It is indeed valuable. I really like DB as a company and I realise my true passion by working shadowing in different divisions. I can seldom hear from such diverse perspectives without the exposure into this programme. I look up to the people working there at DB and see my career path more clearly.
Everything Else
I am living in London so I do not really need reimbursement. I know my peers who were not based in London did receive reimbursement from the company.
There were many opportunities given to network with the employees of the company. We were able to network during the work shadowing in 5 different divisions and there were many company presentations and panels after which we could chat with the people. We could even network with the senior people at DB.
The networking events were good. People were willing to spend time sharing with us their stories and insights into many things. They were there to provide the immediate help. There were also refreshments provided for us. After these events, I do feel I got guidance and suggestions which are all very valuable.
Yes. This is becasue the HRs explained to us many details about the opportunities outside of work. Also, while we were chatting with the people at desk, they were also willing to share with us what kinds of opportunities they have outside of work. Most of them are volunteering and meaningful.
Definitely. I really enjoy this experience at DB and I like the culture and environment at DB a lot. I miss the people there after the programme ended. The whole event is indeed informative and we could really learn a lot and meet and network with a lot of people there.
