About You
I enjoyed the Women in Tech programme which took place across 3 days. I was able to shadow a senior associate as well as learn more about the technology department at PwC. The experience in itself was enjoyable as it was packed with activities on the first day to the last.
We were all set up with the same resources as the employees across the 3 days, therefore I felt valued as someone working for the company. The staff at PwC were able to integrate well with the students of the programme and answered any questions we had about their work.
I received a lot of support and guidance during the insight week. The PwC employees I shadowed were able to answer all the questions I had about their work. It was also a very hands on experience as I was participating in a range of activities during the placement period.
The skills I developed and the information I received during the programme will enable me to decide which area of Tech I would like to go into after I graduate. The programme gave me an insight into different areas of Tech and I was able to explore further into what PwC do.
The Company
The insight programme was structured very well as it was consisted of a range of activities to not only develop our existing skills, but learn new ones on the go. All the days of the programme were structured so that we were able to take in as much learning experience as we can.
The general atmosphere during the insight was very pleasant as everyone was given the opportunity to get to know each other and integrate well as a group. The group activities enabled all the members of the programme to work together. The atmosphere at the office itself was also pleasant, which made shadowing enjoyable.
PwC allowed us to shadow an employee at the company which gave me a great insight into what it is actually like to work within Tech at PwC. The exercises and group activities enabled us to learn more about our interests and what we'd be interested in going pursue in future.
The insight helped a great amount in understanding what it would be like to work at the company as all the members of the programme followed a full-time employee structure for the 3 days. It gave an in-depth insight into the daily work life of an employee and what sort of things they'll be dealing with.
The insight helped vastly in understanding the company culture as I was able to speak to different members of the company who were not working within Tech. It also showed what it is like to work for a company/firm in future, and provided me with practical knowledge that will benefit in future.
As well as shadowing a senior associate, I was given tasks to do and was able to meet and interact with professionals from other departments. This helped me decide what exactly I want to explore in more depth and pursue in future. The group tasks given also enabled me to plan the day and follow a structured day.
Everything Else
This was a bonus for participating in the programme as I learnt new skills as well as developing existing ones. The fact that we were being paid made us feel valued and gave a good insight into the company structure. It was also good for people who were coming from afar as it reimbursed their expenses.
There were lots of opportunities for networking and meeting other employees who weren't working within Tech. I was able to connect with employees of various departments. This gave me the chance to explore the different departments within the company in order to decide what I would like to pursue in future.
The networking and social event opportunities are good as PwC has a range of social media platforms which provide an insight into the events that will be taking place. I was also informed of any deadlines for applications and information about future events that are also going to take place.

I would recommend this insight to a friend, as it is a chance to explore and learn about the career which they'd like to pursue. It is a great way to meet like-minded individuals and work with them in group activities. It is also a great opportunity to network with others and learn about the company at the same time.
