    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the Spring into Banking scheme at Deutsche Bank. As part of the infrastructure stream it was great to gain an insight into all the different support functions and shadow members within each of the departments.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • All members of staff were incredibly helpful throughout the spring week. We were encouraged to ask questions and everyone were willing to give up their time to speak to us and answer our questions. Especially during the shadowing, I felt incredibly valued when people took time out to speak to us and show us what they were working on and give us advice.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We received a lot of guidance and support during the insight week. Starting off with presentations in order to give us information regarding Deutsche Bank and also to demystify banking in general. We were also given introductions to all the different functions within the bank which was incredibly useful. Generally everyone was friendly and willing to speak to you if you had any questions.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • In the spring week, we were given talks on a range of soft skills which we were also able to develop throughout the week. One of those being how to develop a personal brand, which is not something that you necessarily think about. Also presentation skills, time management and communication is something that you get to develop throughout this week.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was incredibly well organised and structured and there was never a lack of information on when and where to go. After shadowing members of the HR team, it is evident how much planning and consideration goes into creating and executing these events.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was great, there was a nice balance between being fun and interactive to being informative and formal. The week began with some nice ice breakers which helped to get to know the other interns. This definitely helped make the atmosphere a lot more enjoyable.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Its hard to fit a lot into just a week placement, but I definitely feel that I have learnt a lot over this spring week. We were given some online training prior to arriving and then a whole lot of information through presentations, training sessions and even through shadowing all throughout the week.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
