    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Savills, it was very insightful and diverse of the different tasks which a rural surveyor may face as well as the different roles (especially the rural) that there are within the office. I had a good balance of going out of the office on farm valuation inspections and property inspections as well as being in the office and learning the different skills from making phone calls to using programmes such as repit and pro-maps.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The team were very friendly throughout the week and always were happy to help me with the task that they set me. They treat you as a member of the team rather than simply a work experience student and give you proper tasks. I got to know the team more during a lunch which was very good in all respects.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance and support on all the tasks that I did I never felt like I could not ask for help and for everything that I did, they were very informative with instructions and guiding me through the tasks so I did it properly rather than struggling.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It help me assist my degree as I got to use the software such as pro maps which I am going to use in my course. I got to actually find comparables which I have been learning about in my lectures and I got to go and see how to do valuations and inspections.
