    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight days were jam packed with activities to keep us constantly engaged and to make the two days both dynamic and highly enjoyable- there was variety which made the information and tasks particularly interesting, and a nice number of breaks to allow us to refresh and thus remain highly engaged and focused.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Feeling valued was one of the most significant consequences of this programme in my opinion- surrounded by the pressures of life and uni it was empowering to enter into a 2 day programme where my opinions and questions were valued and encouraged, where we were thoroughly looked after, and where our strengths and talents were explored and encouraged- both the programme itself and EY more generally seem really supportive of people and the people culture, and the strength based assessment process in particular results in a real sense of worth.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received constant guidance and support during the programme, from opportunities to ask questions, to constant delicious snacks and meals- no question was too stupid, no area left uncovered. The support involved providing thorough information, as well as allowing us to practice skills and learn more about ourselves and our personal development.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • With regard to my degree studies, the analytical skills I have gained from this programme will hugely enhance my ability to analyse historical information. Moreover, practice in public speaking gained from the programme will help me both in degree related presentations, and also in work-related public speaking in the future. The programme was definitely invaluable.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme was very well structured- timing was carefully planned and this was obvious from the start. Everything ran smoothly, from meals to cloackrooms, and there was a great balance between socialising/networking time vs. Time to absorb information, both service line specific and EY specific. The structure struck a balance between talks and tasks nicely

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was incredibly positive and friendly. There was a really nice amount of EY staff on hand so that there always felt like a friendly and helpful presence was nearby. The talkers were great at generating audience participation- which naturally created a more amicable and sociable atmosphere. Moreover, it was challenging without being too pressurising.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm put an incredible amount of time and effort into my personal development over the 2 days- we were given the opportunity to develop our assessment centre skills through a mock assessment centre, and we also undertook quick personality tests to help understand where our main areas of strength lie.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I have come out of the programme with a way more thorough understanding of the various EY roles and what they entail- the opportunity to ask a million questions to loads of different people from different service lines has provided me with ten times more information than I could ever have found online.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The best way to understand a culture is to experience it, and hence the programme has really helped me to understand the EY culture- in particular the talks on diversity and inclusiveness, and the information on the EY women's network during the speed networking really helped me to build a picture in my head of life at ey

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content was so valuable both in confirming some of my preconceptions and also challenging others- it was most helpful not in helping me to decide but helping me to understand my options and figure out the right questions to be asking at this stage- I feel like whatever I decide it will now be a more informed decision

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • EY was very generous in reimbursing me for my travel to and from the programme.i also understand that others who had longer journeys to make or had to stay overnight in London were very well accommodated for. I think this is really impressive of the firm and promotes more equality of opportunity.
