    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed it. It was insightful and allowed us to ask questions to various members of the business. Although there was a lot of information to process in a short space of time, Refreshments and regular breaks were helpful in keeping me engaged and allowed me to network with some of the speakers.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt valued by the firm. The regular breaks and the emphasis on how EY is a people business was fully reflected by the activities and tasks carried out. We were given a chance to give and receive feedback. It was also an open space to ask questions without fear of being judged.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • There were enough recruiters and staff around to offer guidance and support. Even when they could not give you the answer, they had the right connections and expertise to lead you in the right direction. We received support on strengthening our applications and skill set for the recruitment process as well as to improve our understanding of the firm and the different service lines

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We learnt a lot about graduate capital and the skills required to succeed not only today’s working world but also in the future. This aspect was very useful in setting long term career goals and doing the best I can at university to prepare me for life as a graduate.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • We received an itenary before arriving which outlined what to expect from the 2 days. The days were jam packed with activities and they were well structured to avoid us feeling drained or losing focus. Overall the insight was very well structured to include breaks and a good balance of networking and learning.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was inclusive and encouraged participation. As an introvert I find it hard to speak up in big groups, but the organisers created a space where no question was a dumb question and you could openly ask questions to further boost your knowledge. The atmosphere also allowed us to network and make friends from all across the globe.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company heavily invested in personal training. we had the chance to present and work in teams. These helped to develop key skills that are required to succeed in the working world. Also, we were able to speak to recent graduates and interns in our position who could share invaluable knowledge

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • We had the opportunity to hear from recruiters who talked about the different opportunities available and how to apply for these opportunities. There are many roles to suit different strengths and I was able to hear more about areas that interested me. I was also able to hear about roles behind my knowledge

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • We spent long hours hearing from members of the company and actually being in the building. This gave off a great sense of the culture and also allowed us to see how we fit the culture. Speaking to the employees was the most insightful part and gave real insight into the culture.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was useful in helping me know what I enjoy most and where my strengths lie. We learnt that there are various roles and specialisms therefore I have no idea where I want to go but I know what I like and I can apply this to my future roles.

    3/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We were given a very good experience with food and accommodation . This taught me a lot about Ey and emphasised the importance of looking after the people at EY. We didn’t have to oh for anything which enabled students from various backgrounds to get involved which is important for inclusivity

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes there were. We spoke to various members all of different levels of seniority. It would have been great to see more partners and higher levels of seniority to get wide scope of ideas and an understanding of the culture. However having younger people talk to us made networking easier

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The social events were really good. There were bowling and speed networking. They could have been more Time to socialise and network with members of the company.the room for speed networking was quite small making it difficult to converse with the different people in such a short space of time.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, EY has a women’s network and opportunities to get involved in sport. EY invests in its people so I learnt that there is an opportunity to get involved and start something. This allows us to be creative and create a space that allows its employees to be the best they can be.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes I would. I would recommend it to improve self confidence and to get a general idea of where you can fit in best and the kinds of roles EY can offer to different people. EY shows that regardless of your background, you can find a place at EY and can be valued for who you are.
