    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the insight programme as it was so informative and allowed me to really understand what EY is like as a company. It also allowed me to understand exactly what each service line does and where my best fit may be within the company. This was an extremely eye-opening few days!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt extremely valued- as the application progress was quite extensive I felt that when we got there the student recruitment team, who we got to know quite well, understood that we'd earnt our place on the programme and therefore wanted us to get the most out of it that we could.

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The whole programme was based around giving us enough guidance and support for if we applied for internships or started graduate roles within the company.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed crucial skills whilst on the programme. On the second day we had mock assessment centre and activities which meant we had to present back to the room. This not only allowed me to practice my presenting skills but also helped me to develop my teamwork and communication skills when working with my table.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was extremely well structured - a massive thank you to the whole team! From receiving emails months in advance detailing the programme for the days, exact timings and recommended clothing (which was extremely helpful!) to the actual days everything ran smoothly and was well thought out to help us get the most out of the programme.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Genreally, I really got to know my table over the days and included in that is our table host ( a current employee). She never got tired of our endless stream of (sometimes silly) questions and answered any worry I had about joining the firm

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company provided a range of employees from the younger graduates who we could relate to to those higher up within ey. All of these people gave us a unique insight into the company and different service lines and sectors within. There were different workshops which allowed us to develop skills but networking with employees was the most valuable

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • This was the one thing that the programme was excellent for. Speaking to a range of people and asking about a million questions allowed everyone to understand what it was truly like to work at EY. We also went across to the office where we networked with different representatives that were available.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The programme allowed me to explore EY culture and although I'd heard that it was friendly, welcoming and diverse it was lovely to hear and feel this for myself. Every single person I met from EY was so patient in answering everyone's questions and explaining any business jargon that was hars to understand

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I've come away from this programme with a much clearer understanding on where I want to go with my career. Being able to speak to graduates who were in my place only a year or 2 ago is an invaluable experience - also being able to discuss the prospect of a gap year after uni was helpful.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • EY reimbursed travel costs and provided me with a hotel and breakfast due to the fact I lived outside of London. They provides breakfast, lunch and snacks through both days. There was also a social at the bowling suite where they provided evening food (chips, pizza in this case) and gave out drinks vouchers

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • The programme provided plenty of opportunities for this. Each table had a "table host" who was a more junior member in the firm which helped facilitate activities and genreally guide us. They also allowed us to ask them any questions and any speakers or the panellists socialised afterwards with us during lunch and the breaks. There was also a dedicated networking afternoon in the office where we went around different tables which each had people from different sectors on.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Everyone got to really get to know the table they were sat on as we did all activities with them and I became good friends with those who I was sat next to. There was also a social in the evening where we went bowling there was no pressure to meet other EY people and we just socialised with those our age.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Speaking to our table host I learnt about the sports teams that EY have and the opportunities in which she takes part in

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this to a friend as the insight wasn't too long that it got boring and wasn't too intense that you got stressed. I was instead able to learn about the culture of the company and details about the service lines allowing me to make more accurate decisions about what I want to do in the future
