    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Amazing week overall. If you love technology and are passionate about it, there is no doubt that this will be a perfect place for you. Great speakers, interactive workshops, coding competitions, work shadowing opportunities, networking, incredible socials and so much more all packed into 3 intense, but extremely satisfying days.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Because of the nature of the office in Glasgow where mostly everyone is from a technology background, the overall culture of the firm was incredible. We were all surrounded with people with the same interests (and very similar in age) that welcomed us as potential employees. I was surpassed to also find out that the previous group members from last year were remembered and referenced which felt personal.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • A lot of opportunities to ask for help (and some where no help was provided intentionally to help learn). Overall really great mentors were usually assigned to a lot of group activities. In addition to helping they were also observing team work and were able to give feedback after the sessions on our performance.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As a 2nd year I felt that the programme would have been more beneficial to 1st year that have not heard a lot of the concepts taught already, but the activities were a very fun way to revisit the topics and keep associations with, i.e. agile in my head which will be useful.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The structure was pretty good overall, although I wish that were would be 4 a bit more relaxed days rather then 3 really packed ones. I felt quite tired by the time we were going out for socials and thought it would be better if they started 1-2 hours earlier each day to get proper sleep. Other than than, it was really great.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Amazing atmosphere, everyone was really supportive and helpful. We were treated very well and I did not feel as if I was just observing a company but rather being treated as part of it for those 3 days. People that work there were the main reason why we felt great, but the office is also really cosy and attractive.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • So much money was invested in making us feel great. From premium accommodation and travel, to food 3 times a day and bowling. A lot of JP Morgan merchandise and of course the valuable time of the amazing J.P. Morgan Glasgow staff who were nothing but incredible to interact with.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • From the first day onwards I was given a very good impression of the company, its values and the office. By the end of the week, I was convinced that this is I place I want to apply for a summer internship at. The office and the people made it seem really attractive.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Travel and accommodation booked on our behalf by a partner company. Breakfast was served at the hotel, but also at the office when we arrived each morning, so those that did not have accommodation could benefit from it as well. Lunch also served at the office, dinner location depended on the social events but was also really nice.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • 5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Probably one of the best parts of this programme was that we were given a lot of networking opportunities and a really nice social event on the first night with a game of bowling. Good food served throughout the events and graduates were usually invited as well to give some insight.
