  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I enjoyed learning about how the internals of the bank worked, exploring the different areas and getting a greater understanding of how being a developer at Barclay is.

    • Very much such, everyone was friendly and made a good effort to make us feel involved and where happy to explain what they did here.

    • We receive a decent level of guidance and support during the insight, all staff were happy to answer any questions we may of had and also helped with any problems we may have come across.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The main skill I developed was my networking, having met around 65+ people and went from 3 connections on LinkedIn, up to 40. I believe this will help me greatly in the future.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • The structure of the insight was very well thought out, allowing us to cover a large range of topics on what was going on inside the bank.

    • The general atmosphere during the insight was incredibly friendly and open, with everybody being approachable and talkative.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • We ran a few different skills workshops, such as a CV, Interview and teamwork workshop.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • Very well for almost all areas in Barclays at Knutsford.

    • Quite well, a lot of the staff were very honest about what it was like to work here and it was overtly positive in almost all cases.

    • Considerably, as this week helped me to decide that I would like to go down the developer route.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • We were paid for this experience as well as having all hotel and food expenses were covered.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • There was a lot of opportunity for meeting employees, through both work shadowing and also in networking breakfast, lunch and dinner.
