    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed the insight very much as I feel that although it is just a 3-day-insight event, I have learnt a lot about the company and also get to know the technology and the work life in J.P. Morgan, which I think it is definitely a rare and golden opportunity for us as university students.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I feel that the people I met during the insight day is really very friendly and I never feel left out. The participants were very helpful and caring, not to mention the people in the company too! They were very nice and they gave us lots of advice and also patiently answered all of our questions.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I did receive much guidance during the whole insight event. The recruitment team (Fedora and Dolly) were very helpful and they were like our "parents" taking care of us throughout the whole event. During the coding challenges, some guidance/support was given, mainly tips, by the seniors and they were very helpful.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • From the coding challenges, I believe the technical skills I developed will help very much in my degree studies and the soft skills I gained throughout the event will definitely assist me no matter what career I choose in the future. Behind every activity, there will always be a reflection session where we think of the learning outcomes and lessons we have learnt.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was very well structured! It was not packed but it is sure an insightful one. Although it is just 3 days, it is very informative. The activities were awesome for the whole three days, not to mention there were social activities too. We were very exhausted but the feeling was great! Kudos to the great team!

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere during my insight was not very tensed. Although everyone do not know each other in the beginning of the event, throughout the first day, many of us just clicked well together. The fun never stopped since the first day of the event, there wasn't a moment I felt bored!

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company definitely invest a lot in terms of personal training and development. They did it in a different way as in they did not tell you straight what you will learn after the activity we did but they did let us realize every lesson learnt after the activities and we will always have a reflection session for every activity done.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight definitely helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full-time role with the company or firm as there were few work shadowing sessions for us. The sessions were great as the graduates brought us through their day to day work for their respective roles.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight helped a lot as the networking/social events were meant to let us ask questions like these and the questions are all answered. It is very obvious that the employees enjoy and like the culture of the company and it is definitely a great work place to be in!

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • There were actually few divisions in the technology department and the content of the day was valuable and incredible in helping us to decide on our future career path. There were few workshops held during the event to let us know more about the day to day duties within the division.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • J.P. Morgan did reimburse my travel expenses for me. They even provide accommodation the day before the event started. We were provided dinner as well (it was actually part of the social event). Although I was not paid for the insight, I am grateful that J.P. Morgan arranged everything well for me.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, there were opportunities. There were social events after a tiring day in the office and there was a networking lunch on the last day of the event too. The only comment about this is that the networking lunch was too short and I did not manage to talk to most of the managers. We did managed to work-shadow some of the employees of the company.

    4/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking/social events were great, J.P. Morgan paid for our dinner and we got the chance to talk to current interns or industrial placement students working in the company. The restaurants were very cosy and the food was not bad too. I feel that there should be more social events/networking sessions as one a day is not enough.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, I found out that J.P. Morgan has a lot of activities for its employees to get involved outside of work. From innovation hubs to volunteering, J.P. Morgan definitely gave the perfect work-life balance to its employees and made sure that the things that were done by its employees are truly the stuff they want to do or interested in.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes, definitely! It is truly a great opportunity to get to know more about the company and get the tips and hints and best of all, advice for our future. I definitely learnt a lot throughout the whole event and hope that J.P. Morgan can host more of these events for more students to get involved.
