Spring Intern Review

I thoroughly enjoyed the insight which provided us with various learning opportunities, networking events and insightful presentations. Being able to actually sit on the floors with analysts and associates really made me feel included and hence strengthened even more my will to further this experience. In comparison with others insights, this was most certainly the most inclusive and intense one.

Even though I was only there for two weeks, I genuinely felt a strong sense of inclusion. I was able to meet with numerous analysts and even if they only had a few minutes to offer, they were truly and sincerely interested in my ambitions for the future and my experience at the firm.

I believe I had absolutely all the support I needed. I appreciated the trust they put in us by giving us a lot of autonomy and I believe this contributed positively to my experience. However, if I had any questions, concerns or simply wanted some feedback, I knew exactly who I had to go to.

Broadly speaking, I believe that the confidence I gained from this experience will be invaluable throughout the whole of my career. Having to do presentations, meet with people, ask questions and constantly be pro-active made me step out of my comfort zone and I am convinced this is something which will help me for future interviews or applications.

The insight was extremely well structured which enabled us to attend a myriad of activities and events. Moreover, I also think that this insight was neither too rigid nor too lax, meaning that the free time to network and work on presentations was perfectly allocated.Thanks to the calendar, we knew our daily tasks and events in advance and this enabled us to organize ourselves in the best possible way we could.

As I was obviously very nervous and stressed before starting the insight, not knowing exactly what I should expect and what would be expected of me, I felt even more that the general atmosphere in my division was relaxed and hence comfortable. Even though, I was working in a fast-paced and challenging environment, the nice and collegiate atmosphere made it an amazing experience.

Being able to talk with people about what it is they actually do on a daily basis was extremely valuable and enabled me to really imagine myself in the same role. Moreover, by sitting everyday next to analysts and associates helped me better understand the importance of team work and client relationships through phone calls or meetings.

I would without any doubt recommend this insight to a friend. I believe it is a fantastic opportunity to discover more about the daily work you can expect at Goldman Sachs. Through this perspective it is an invaluable chance to try and project yourself in that environment. Ultimately, you will be able to say with certainty if this is the right place for you or not.
