    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The placement I had at the University of Manchester, was mainly in the student union’s building. I got a chance to explore all the different aspects of the university including the finanace, volunteering and fundraising, the different societies, the different media outlets and how they communicate. I thought it was a great experience to have

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • During my placement at the university the members of staff and employees treated me like I was part of the organisation and they valued me as a member and took all my idea into account as well. The treated me fairly and they were extremely kind and helpful in all ways.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • At the placement I received a varied amount of Guidance and support depending on the task. They helped me when I was doing something which I am not familiar with and guided me through the task. At the same time they let me do some things independently to increase my confidence and also to make me less dependent

  • During my time at the university, I gained numerous skill including confidence, team work, communication skills, organisation, punctuality, creativity etc. The skill I gained will help me with my education because those skill are key in order for me to learn and it will also help me beyond because I will need them to move on.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was really well structured and organised. In the time we had at the university we learned quite a lot and they had made a time table so we do not miss out on any key areas. The ended up covering all the aspects of the organisation because they had structured the time well.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • There was a great atmosphere over there. It wasn’t extremely fun because the atmosphere was more like a working atmosphere and all the activities we did had some sort of educational field around it. It helped me professionally and that is what counts because the placement was not meant to be entertaining.

    3/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company firm invested in me by providing me with work experience and the key skills I need to improve my employability skills. They invented in me by observing my skill through out my time at the university and giving me feedback on how I can improve and what I can do to improve.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • My placement at the university of Manchester’s student union’s helped me understand what it would be like to have a full time role because they acted like I was an actual employee and when I made a mistake they would tell me so and they would act like what a boss was like

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The placement helped me to under stand the organisations culture by showing me all the different places and compartments of the university and how they work. They also have the different societies in the university so people with different cultures can find something which they are interested in and enjoy themselves.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content of the day was help full to help me understand where I lack in skills and where I need to develop my self further but it didn’t help me in terms of the career Path I would like to take as the placement had nothing to do with it.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
