About You
This was a really enjoyable week. Being a non division specific internship I gained a really rounded view to the different divisions within the bank. I now feel far better prepared to apply for summer internships in the future. I was also really impressed with the quality of training provided throughout the week.
I felt highly valued. This was most apparent in the quality of the insight week on the whole. We received high quality teaching and the program organisers ensured that we were kept busy throughout. In addition we had access to networking with both junior and senior members of the business.
I felt very supported. This was most apparent in the quality of the insight week on the whole. We received high quality teaching and the program organisers ensured that we were kept busy throughout. In speaking with individuals at networking and through the training program one could gain significant guidance for future applications.
I don't think the skills developed will map well to my particular discipline, physics. However the insight will allow me to engage more thoroughly with financial developments giving me a better opportunity to pursue this career beyond my degree. The interview/public speaking skills sessions will be useful irrespective of what career path I choose.
The Company
It was really well structured. This was most apparent in the quality of the insight week on the whole. We had a well thought out program that gave us access to both public and private sides of the business. The program booklet we received defined a packed week of activities and talks which certainly lived up to expectations.
I feel that being a non division specific internship really benefitted the atmosphere. Although there is a degree of disappointment that there wasn't an opportunity to be fast tracked to a summer internship this was more that made up for by the inquisitive and collaborative attitude displayed by the vast majority of interns.
The company really invested in us, we received several talks and training sessions from high profile trainers. In addition we were given access to senior and junior members of the business in a multitude of networking events. I am hopeful that this investment will bring returns for both me and JP Morgan into the future.
Being given access to both the private and public sides of the company and receiving 2 days of really high quality training helped to give us a rounded view of the company as a whole. The time spent with individuals in a range of roles was also invaluable in deciding if a full time position with JP Morgan would be of interest.
Being given access to both the private and public sides of the company was really useful in this regard. The time spent with individuals in a range of roles was also invaluable in assessing the company culture and ultimately if a full time position with JP Morgan would be of interest. That said having previously attended an insight day I already had a good understanding of the company's core values.

The time spent with individuals in a range of roles was also invaluable in deciding if a full time position with JP Morgan would be of interest or more generally if this career path was a good fit.
