    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight was very well rounded since it included insight into various different sectors within the firm - it was not just limited to one niche sector. It really highlighted the sense of culture within the firm and how it is all about collaborating to achieve the best standard of work possible.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The insight scheme allowed us to partake in various interactive sessions in which we had to make our own decisions in role-play style activities. Not only this, but the partners were open and honest with their responses to questions asked after the various presentations which made me feel like I was valued on the scheme.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The guidance provided was incredible. Any issues or queries were dealt with and the firm accommodated to everyone's individual needs whether it be with travel or accommodation. The schedule informed us of the various activities we would be involved in giving us time to think of questions as the departments were stated next to the talks.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The insight provided us with an workshop on how to make our CVs stand out while remaining individual. Along with this, I feel I have a better understanding about how various practice groups operate along with industries that operate within this sector. This will be invaluable when it comes to future applications.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The structure was seamless with breaks planned routinely along with action packed days. The food was all catered and prompt which allowed for the next sessions to run smoothly. We did go for a networking meal out which allowed us to gain an insight on how client dinners operate in this field.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was fantastic. Made some great new friends and we were always kept busy! Graduate recruitment had us on our toes and the time went so fast. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience on the insight and can't recommend it enough. I loved my time at the firm and can't wait to reapply for further schemes.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested in us through exposing us to various different partners and associates to show us the breadth and depth of the work the firm undertake. The interactive sessions allowed us to put into practice the skills we had observed and the research project helped us with our presentation skills.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The speed networking and other sessions provided close contact with trainees who were very honest and open about exactly how they found their experience at the firm. They all spoke about seats the enjoyed and didn't and helped explain how to make our personalities shine through in interviews.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Everyone all had the same view with regards to culture and it was that the firm is all about collaborative working and striving to achieve better together. I feel I can agree with that after having personal conversations with individuals from trainee level to partner level and this feeling is mirrored in everyone.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I feel I understand a lot more about how a solicitor practices but also how a solicitor in a commercial and international law firm works. Most people I spoke to did not know what they wanted to specialise in until undertaken a seat in the practice group and this was reassuring

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We were provided with a budget for transport and also a hotel if the travelling duration would exceed 60 minutes. The hotel was covered by the firm and we had to book our transport which would later be reimbursed. This was all reimbursed before the programmed had finished and food was provided three times a day. This was highly useful since I am on a student budget.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • 5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • 5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • 5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would 100% recommend to a friend - even if they were unsure about law or being a solicitor. The insight showed us how various partners took different routes into law. Graduate recruitment were very helpful with ensuring everything ran on time and that we were left feeling motivated and ready for the next steps in our personal careers.
