About You
I enjoyed the insight. There was a good mix of activities and different things to do, and we were in a nice hotel in the Culloden. There was a lot to do and at times there could've been a bit more free time perhaps, but it was useful and fairly enjoyable
I felt very valued. The fact we were staying in the Culloden and got big rooms and nice food for every meal shows that pwc spent a fair amount of money on the two days, but also the fact it was well organised and partners and managers came show it was valued.
We received lots of guidance and support and the electives helped us to learn more about the different departments within pwc. The interview skills and presentation help also gave us important guidance, and it was generally well organised so I felt well supported. You could ask partners questions so were well guided.
I think the skills will be largely helpful beyond my degrees study in work, as the insights and guidance will be useful when working, but the skills will also be helpful in our degree programmes as it was an interesting experience of working in a team and learning new things.
The Company
the insight was very well structured as everything was clearly timetabled and it was stuck to. It was good that we got out timetables on the lanyards at the start as you knew what to expect, and while it was very busy at least we knew what to expect throughout
there was a generally positive atmosphere throughout. At the start it was naturally a bit hesitant, but once we did the icebreakers and started working in all the different group configurations it was easy to get to recognise and know the whole group, which was the point of the different groups I imagine, and it worked well
they obviously invested a lot in terms of money since we were at the culloden and were very well looked after, but perhaps more importantly was the number of partners and managers and pwc staff that were there for guidance, which shows we were well invested in
it was very informative because we were able to learn general stuff about the whole company from the speeches at the start and from talking to the partners at dinner, but also the specific electives were useful to understand how to different departments work together and separately.
the insight was useful in understanding the company culture from the general vibe of the event, but also the specific electives carried a consistent message of pwc values so it was useful to gain insight into understanding the company culture.
it was useful actually, which i wasn't sure it would be to begin with as you're not sure how much you can get as I'm unsure of my career path, but in fairness it was good to understand the different ways the departments work, andit helped me get a better idea
Everything Else
you can claim expenses but i didn't need to because i just drove from my house like 30 minutes away so I didn't bother
yeah there were lots of opportunities for networking, at the start of tuesday for a bit and before dinner in the evening you could talk to different directors
there were lots of opportunities for networking, at the start of tuesday for a bit and before dinner in the evening you could talk to different directors. Networking can be a bit awkward but this was okay actually, and was reasonably relaxed and they were all nice. The quiz and dinner were good for being with the other students
not really actually, but i wouldn't say that was an issue and you could ask questions lots so if you were curious you could have found out
yeah i would recommend it to friends, because it was fairly enjoyable and very useful to learn more about pwc, get new experience and develop new skills. it was very busy and kind of tiring but i would recommend it to a friend
