    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I felt like I was able to engage in envy opportunity that was offered to me and I felt excited to go to work each morning. I truly enjoyed my stay with DLA and I looked forward to each day and the challenges that would be presented to me at each day.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt really comfortable from day one. I felt good each day and there were many initiatives in place to help me feel good. The team were friendly and helpful and made sure I was happy at all times. I felt they put effort into makingsure I was comfortable at all times.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I knew what I was doing and when I was doing it at all times. Very detailed timetable and I felt encouraged to ask questions if I didn't understand anything. There was always someone available and the team were willing to help. I felt supported and there was definitely enough guidance.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We did various workshops on both working in the legal system but as well on getting a job and building the perfect CV. The info sessions on different sectors have helped me feel so much more informed to make a decision about what type of firm i would like to work at. I am so much more confident in my decision to be a lawyer.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well structured. I was very impressed with the high quality interactive workshops that had been prepared. There was a good mix of info sessions and interactive workshops where we were able to apply what we had been told. There was a very good mix of work accompanied with breaks.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was generally welcoming. Thee wasn't a mix of fun and seriousness. I never felt uncomfortable and I think that there was something for every one. There was an atmosphere of learning and wanting to better our opportunities as future lawyers. Everyone was really friendly and smiley and just made me feel welcome.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel that they did invest time in making sure there were enough activities that encouraged personal growth but there could have been more personal training but for the time that we had I felt it was good.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I feel a lot more informed about life working at DLA. I got a good idea. Although not too detailed I felt that I got the gist of what it would be like for work there and the duffest work hours that would be expected depending on what sector I would be in.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I have come away certain in my decision to be a solicitor. It was every informative and I liked that they also talked about other career paths that are available and I was able to see how different people have come to work a small a lawyer and I didn't feel pressured to choose law or DLA. I was really impressed with this.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was reimbursed for my travel to London and as I live more than 60 minutes of travel outside of London; they paid for a hotel for me to stay in. The hotel was nice and DLA we're accommodating to my needs.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • On the first night there was an opportunity to meet future trainees and get to talk to them. We were also able to meet current trainees and associates. Were engaged with staff at all times and we were able to meet partners and ask them questions and present to them as well.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • We were able to have networking lunches every day to meet other students but as well on the evenings there were opportunities meet associates and trainees and interact with them. The food was great at all time sand we were taken to a restaurant on one evening Andy were able to interact with various people.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend the programme to anyone who is thinking about a career in law or who just wants to see what their options are. I felt like I was able to then make an informed decision about my future after this programme so I would definitely recommend it.
