    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Yes it was a very enjoyable experience and everyone was extremely friendly. The whole event was very well organised and I would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of doing it. Thank you very much to everyone involved in organising the 3 days first year insight programme - it was amazing

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt that everyone took a lot of time out of their very busy days to come and give talks and meet all the students. This included partners, recruitment as well as trainees and future trainees. This mean that I was able to hear a range of experiences and routes into the law firm.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The whole event was very well structured and guided. Any questions I had were answered straight away and in a very friendly manner. Very clear instructions were given in every workshop so therefore I felt extremely well guided and if I hadn't they would have been more than happy to explain in more detail.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt so much on this programme. Not just about life at the firm but also about the different sectors and focuses of the firm. The CV workshops, the negotiating workshop and the commercial responsibility workshop have all helped to improve my public speaking and teamwork skills which will help me in future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • We were given a detailed timetable which was very well stuck too. You could tell that all the workshops had been very well thought through and this was evident as it meant that the instructions were extremely clear and very enjoyable and rewarding. The hotel was also in a great location.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everybody at the firm were so friendly and more than willing to answer any questions I had. I thought everyone at the firm were so funny and this made all the presentations very engaging and helped us stay focused. It also meant that we were able to relax straight away.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • 4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The company culture was evident right from the start. Talking to the employees made it clear how important diversity was to the company and how much the firm emphasises inclusion into the daily running of the firm. The friendly atmosphere made this even more evident and added to the feeling of inclusion

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I have been on many open days but the workshops here really stood out to me. They were very informative but the fact that the undergraduates were able to get involved allowed them to experience real life situations that lawyers at the firm face on a daily base at the firm.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was reimbursed expenses both for travel but also the hotel was paid for. The hotel was lovely and located nearby so was practical. They also fed us the most lovely food, breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also took us to a lovely restaurant for a networking dinner which was a great experience.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • 4/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • There were a lot of networking opportunities both with trainees and also with other people on the course. There were also many opportunities to ask questions to the partners at the firm and I am sure that if we have any questions after the event then they will be answered.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • 4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • This insight is defiantly worth doing. It has allowed me to gain skills which I can use no matter which career I choose to take. It has also been a great way of finding out more about life at the firm and is a great insight into daily life at the firm.
