    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • To get the opportunity to hear senior lawyers talk about their experiences was very inspirational. I have also got a better idea on the type of work DLA Piper do and the life at the firm.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued in the 3 days I spent here. The smile on everyone's faces were very welcoming. The amount of food I was fed surely made it feel like home.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance from the staff and my fellow students. Every question or confusion I had was quickly cleared up by the staff and this made the experience much more beneficial.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills of teamwork, communication and problem solving are qualities in which I will be able to apply to all my studies and career opportunities.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very good. There was not a moment when I felt bored. The set up ensured that there was sufficient breaks/food to keep us going throughout the day.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • In some morning it can be a little bit tedious, however it's not long until there is an activity or talk which took my attention. The friendliness of the workers ensured the atmosphere was continuously positive.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • By getting some of the most senior partners to come speak to us was an indication of how valued we were.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • There was different partners from different sectors which gave us a variety of issues deals into those different areas. By speaking to some graduates, we were also able to gain first hand what it's like to work in such a firm.

  • DLA insists on their culture and by speaking tot he associates I understood what they value most. This includes things such as diversity and high standards.

  • I have always been interested in DLA but after this programme, it has increased my interest in the commercial sector of DLA piper
