Intern Review

It was a very good experience and a wonderful time at MINI. I had the opportunity to take part in interesting projects and take responsibility. For me personally the only thing that does not make it a 10 was that I was not part of more projects involving different people and spent a lot of time on my own.

Although it took a while to gain the confidence of my colleagues I leave the internship feeling a full member of the team.

I never felt left on my own during my internship at Oxford. When I needed help I got it.

This is probably the only point that did not meet my expectations. In general I feel I could have delivered the same results I did on 6 hours a day and not in 8. Nevertheless when I had an important project running I did manage to feel busy thorughout the day.

I took the responsibility I could considering the fragility and legal implications of the job. I would not be able to say that I was the running show.

Considering that I studied Engineering Science I was not able to do very much related to that subject. It was a very administrative orientated job, which was told to me from the beginning. I did get the opportunity to see from first hand what the engineering job entitled, but I received very little experience from that perspective. On the other hand I got a very good hindsight of corporation work and what it would mean to pursue a carreer in a big company. Which is probably the most valuable knowledge from this placement.

Very good. It would motivate you to work and enjoy it. Always had support if needed.

In general I was very pleased with the set up. It gave me the opportunity to look behind the scenes in a big company, gave me responsibility on interesting topics and gave me the freedom to approach them how I felt was right. The only reason it is not a 10 is because sometimes the work instruction would not be very clear and it was on me to define what it was I needed to do.

I had all the training relevant for the job. And on team workshops I would be treated like any other member of the team.

It is a very appealing place, offering a wide variety of jobs and a very nice atmosphere on a day to day basis offering stability. The only thing that holds me back from pursuing a career here is the feeling of being a very small part of the big wheel.

I could not have imagined it better. From day 1 the social atmosphere at BMW for interns was amazing. Weekend rad trips to scotland, Intern socials every Thursday, international students and a variety of other activities never let you feel lonely or on your own in the mini Plant in Oxford.

The Money earned at the company was more than enough for covering expenses and some of the socialising. Nevertheless Oxford was on the rather expensive side.

Considering we are in England, Oxford can not be compared to Liverpool, Newcastle or London. But you would always have fun on a night out and get to meet new people every day.
