The Role
It was enjoyable to gain experience and learn new things which I was previously unfamiliar with and this has helped me a lot even after the internship.
I was only working with my supervisor in an office environment with other members of staff. Unfortunately I did not get to interact with the other members of staff, the fact that I was not working with them may have impacted on this.
I received a good level of support, however at times it would have been beneficial to receive more especially when I was stuck or confused with some of the tasks I had to carry out.
Most of the time I had tasks to do but sometimes I had to wait a while before I could meet with my supervisor to review my work and decide on the next tasks to take on.
The work was very dependent on my progress and lace of work so I felt that I was in charge of the whole project we were working on.
I have gained experience and knowledge which has helped me outside and beyond my internship, which is extremely valuable.
The Company
Everyone was working on their own thing and there wasn’t much interaction unless it was between those working with each other/know each other.
The initial plan for the internship was well planned and organised, however this did not account for any possible delays so we had to make adjustments to the internship plan.
I did not receive any particular investment from the company, other than their reliance on me to complete the work.
Flexi Time
Working from home
My role was exclusively for an internship only. It would only be possible to obtain future employment if there was a suitable vacancy.
The Culture
I did not have the opportunity to work with my fellow students on the internship.
It was average - not too expensive and not dead cheap. I did not socialise much.
There are many places where nightlife is much better, however this was just about sufficient.
I was not aware of many opportunities to get involved in anything outside of work.
