    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I didn't really enjoy it at the start because I quickly realised that I wasn't doing the job that I had applied for. Towards the end of the placement it got much better as I had managed to carve out my own niche within the team and developed some good working relationships.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I worked alongside some good people who were happy to give me the time and energy to help me learn.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager was quite laid back.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On some days I was really busy and on others I had to find my own work to do.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Work would be allocated to each team member at the regular team meetings, so I would be responsible for what I had been allocated.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The placement year will not help me directly with my degree studies but it was a good year of general work experience.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was OK, some people were nicer than others.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There wasn't a great deal of structure to my placement year.

    1/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was able to attend a number of training courses outside of the office including Time Management and Writing as well as computer based training.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Working from home

    3/5

  • I have been asked to contact them once I graduate.

    3/5

  • A few events were organised but there wasn't much going on.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It is cheaper than living and working in a major city.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • You would need to travel to Birmingham, Coventry or Leicester for decent nightlife.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were no activities outside of work.
