    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Found it very enjoyable and educational. Helped me decide that I did indeed want to study architecture at university

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was made to feel part of the team as everyone had little tasks that they would ask me to do and also would ask personal questions about myself

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I was taught how to do things that I wasn’t able to do before thanks to the team. They would verbally help me and also provided instructions on paper too.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed have helped me progress greatly in my course. Without the skills I learnt here I would be struggling

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • This was purely for my benefit to learn about the field.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Each day I was placed with a different member of staff in the office so that I could experience what they were working on each day and get a broad understanding of the field I wish to work in. I was also introduced to any visitors that came to the office.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • This is the only negative comment I have to make about the placement. The office had no networking or social event opportunities. This could’ve been due to the time of the year since it was near Christmas and people were finishing for the festive period. I wish there were more events so that I could network with others.

    2/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • The staff didn’t let me know of any social events or activities that they were involved in. I know that they were all members of the RIBA and actively participate in events for that. This isn’t really an important part of the job in my eyes.

    2/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this placement to a friend or any one asking. I felt that although I was only there for a short period of time that the experience was invaluable. It helped me learn a large range of skills and also stuff that I wouldn’t have known unless I visited this office.
