About You
I enjoyed the insight as it gave me a great idea into the job role of a pharmacist. I found out that a pharmacist has more roles than just dispensing medication which include running clinics, giving patient advice and lialising with doctors and suppliers. It gave me an idea whether or not this is the profession that I want to work in for the near future.
I felt valued to a great extent. All my colleagues and staff got on really well with me during the insight. My work was appreciated and i also enjoyed the social aspect of working as everyone was talkative and helpful. I did not feel isolated or left out during work hours, everyone is like family there one solid unit.
I received alot of guidance and support throughout the placement to help me through it. The placement leader helped me organise it whilst the employer was supportive in the tasks I was given to do. If i made mistakes the employer was supportive in the way of helping me to rectify the mistake. Overall I was happy.
I developed key skills such as team work, communication which will assist me with my studies and beyond because pharmacists works in a team setting to efficently serve the local community. I also gained some basic knowledge of some medication which will assist me in my studies as i will already know what that medication does.
The Company
The insight was well structured and i had a great variety of tasks to complete on a regular basis such as stocking, printing labels, till work as well as observing the pharmacist helping patients and dispensing medication. I never felt bored completing tasks. Overall my programme was very well structures and I did not have any issues with the insight.
The general atmosphere was amazing. It could not be better. The colleagues and staff get on well with each other like a family. The atmosphere contributes to how well the work is completed in a workplace. Everyone enjoys working there and all the staff serve patients with a bright smile. Great atmosphere.
The insight helped me understand to a large extent what it would be like working full time with the company. I think it will be good working for that company. Staff are friendly, the company offer a range of services and the general atmosphere is so striking there. Its a place where I feel valued and considered.
It was very valuable on helping me decide my future career path. I learned more about the profession and what it involves which helped me make an informed decision of whether or not it it a career which i want to follow up in. I believe a placement is necessary to get an insight into your potential future career. Many people will regret missing a placement after taking a degree.
Everything Else
I got to meet all the staff and work with them as it is a very small company. As i have said they were a great bunch of people to work with, very friendly and supportive also. Meeting other helped me develop my social and team working skills. This is important for the future as this profession involves team working.
I recommend this insight to a friend very much because it will help then make an informed decision on whether or not pharmacy is a future career for then. If they do not enjoy it at least it will help then to know this is not a future career for them then they can choose another path. It helps in making a very important choice for your future career.
