    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I place did enjoy my placement or pretty much in BDRP firm as its very small so they have given time to teach me about the various aspects of the job. I was there for around 8 months which was quite fruitful and very valuable for my experience and for my future prospects.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • As the firm was small and compact therefore everyone know each other . All of my colleagues were very helpful and friendly with me. Even I was new and junior they treated me equally and also with great amount of respect. My colleagues also helped me through the entire process of my placement.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • They guide and supervise me through all the work. They help me through the entire process of the job. They have set up the daily manual that needed to be done by me which was tracked by them in the regular intervals. they also have their own system to teach me various techniques of the jobs.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I have started out very slowly as it takes me time to learn the things but as the time increases I was get busier doing work and it gives me great experience through out my life. Since it is small firm with the small number of the people so every one is responsible of their own job for every small things from cleaning to the official duties which make it busy.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As I mentioned before its was very small firm but the work load has been at the maximum so the amount of work that had been given to me was decent. So the responsibility is equal. It makes me busier through out my stay in BDRP firm. so responsibility is huge.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • During any work experience, it’s a good idea to document what you have been doing through a log or a diary, since you may not remember everything you have achieved. You can then compare the skills you have developed against the ones you need, whether it’s to boost your ‘soft skills’ or to get into a particular career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was very nice and friendly and two-way open communication will eventually break down the hurdles present in hierarchical or bureaucratic organizations. At the end of it all, it promotes trust in day-to-day interactions between co-workers, as well as between subordinates and supervisors. Everyone becomes more united with the organization’s mission in their mind. There is mutual respect among all employees, regardless of their official statuses.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was well organised and fully set up for the internship level. Everything was fully organised as what has to be done and how to be done by the interns. They also set up the time scale according to each intern who work there and as there was only me so everything was fully organised and functional on each department of the firm.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company or the firm had invested much on my personal training and in my personal development. They have invested lot of time to train me on for the job which gives me the insight of the job on training level. They also invested their money as they gave me enough time to teach me various aspects of accounting training .

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • As I has been working there for nine months in that organisation therefor the future prospects seems to very bright within the organisation as every one in the firm like me and my hard work that I had been doing in the past few months. As by the behaviour of the boss he seems to be pretty happy with my present job which I see a great thing for my future.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I am the only trainee in that firm so there were no other trainee colleagues on mine in that job. However in the context of the social scene among the other fellow colleagues they are very fun and friendly and we tend to have good social life too as we used to go out for lunch from work place many time and sometimes we go out for drink from office mainly on Thursday evening.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The office is based on Canada Water and I don't live in Canada Water, therefore I won't know exactly the cost of living in Canada Water. But I did research it and the rent for one bed flat seems to be pretty okay. There is Tesco extra in Surrey quays. which is near by that also seems to be convenient. There are good restaurants and pubs around the area which seems to be pretty reasonable and affordable.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • As I already mentioned that I don't live around the area so I don't know exactly how happening and lively is the nightlife in the area around Canada Water. Looking into the area there are few pub which seems decent to enjoy lively music and drinks and also central London is just 10mins in the tube where the night life is much more happening. There are also bus which can take 25 to 35 mins depending on the area you want to visit in central London.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
