  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have worked whilst working at Bosch have been extremely useful whilst completing my final year of studies along with my part time job. They will also most definitely be useful in the future, especially communication skills, leadership skills, excel skills and organisational skills.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was always friendly with all members being approachable. When audits and important work was taking place the atmosphere was more serious, however was laid back on other occasions.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The tasks I carried out could have been more related to the degree subject I am studying at university. However, the tasks I did carry out were still relevant and helped me improved my knowledge on health and safety legislation and how it is approached within a large company.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I carried out job shadowing in the research and development department which helped develop my knowledge on how efficient the boilers being manufactured actually are. As well as this, I was put on an oil and gas training programme to learn about the science behind the boilers. I also attended intern days where all the interns interacted and carried out group tasks, which helped develop my teamwork skills.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The majority of future employment prospects focus on engineering, research and development, and marketing. Whilst Bosch have graudtae schemes for these jobs, they are not relevant to my degree subject.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a large group of interns with many intern night outs and social events being organised. As I go to university in Manchester, the social scene was not as good as I am used to. Despite this, there was still some recreational activities and places to go, just not as much choice.
