The Role
Very enjoyable, had a great time down there.
Felt valued by my colleagues and my opinion was listened to in meetings. Any work produced was actually used and made a difference to the project.
I was given a lot of support by my Project Manager, who aimed to give me an education both work and life related.
I was always busy, either on site or in the office. I was set tasks on a regular basis, with work expected to be completed by the end of the week.
I was given quite a bit of free reign. Work produced for the project was regularly used on site and contributed to the project. Onsite I was expected to know what was happening and how to behave.
I was sat beneath a PM, so my knowledge and skill in this area developed rapidly. Site experience is always useful and good to keep up to date and current. Valuable experience in the Water sector, with a good understanding of theory from university being applied to real scenarios. Earned a number of qualifications with regards to working in the water industry.
The Company
Quiet, but this was potentially due to a small team spread over a number of sites.
Work Placement was as well organised as you would expect
Gained 2 qualifications. Good investment and keen to develop your skills.
Potential Graduate Scheme offers
The Culture
N/A (not placed with any fellow students)
Well subsidised (based in London so high cost, but good fun)
London has an excellent nightlife
Plenty to do and see in London, I would recommend making the most of your time down there if you managed to get placed near London. Also just important to make the most of your weekends.
